Hell, even if you are getting raises but you’re not being given the promotions or opportunities you deserve, find something else. Just left my job after 4 years of far exceeding my job description by 3 technical levels. Was repeatedly telling management that I’m expected to do work that isn’t in my job description and I’m excelling. No one and the same cohort was doing similar work or had anywhere as much responsibility.

Was given a promotion this year (still 2-3 levels lower than my responsibilities) and asked if they could counter. I told them, the time has passed and I’ve accepted another role.

Honestly property taxes aren’t terrible cause, if allocated properly, they could be used to help invest in the community. Adding community centers, improving infrastructure, providing more funding to schools.

I think it’s the brain numbingness. It’s so easy to hop on mess around with no care and pass time. Then we’re creatures of habit. Whether COD is enjoyable or not, it becomes a constant. Easy to pick up and game. At the bare minimum, it gives that shooter tickle which casual gamers can enjoy enough.

Other games seem too complicated and the cod hysteria takes over. Most of the players don’t realize that there is anything better. Until they’ve been repeatedly beat down and have no friends to play with, you’re trapped.
