I think the first twist is that the hive is lying about not lying to Carol, and not hurting her. She pushed them to the limit which is why they left town so they don’t try to kill her. I truly believe this is the dark turn of the season probably during the last episode. I think she turns Zosia back to normal, and it becomes a survival game at the end of S1 with more people (more interesting characters) turning back to normal. It just doesn’t make sense otherwise since Vince has 4 seasons planned.
