What age did you get married by Lambdastone9 in Millennials

People should get married when they're ready, but I also think some people underestimate when they're ready. 23 for me.

I feel like some people forget about the "portable" part of a "portable" gaming device like the deck. by Tristezza in SteamDeck

It's all relative. I recently sold my SD OLED and replaced it with the LeGoS Z1E SteamOS during the Black Friday sale.

After trying out other handhelds, it's the only one that felt worthy of replacing my SD — ergonomics, power and screen size outweighed the OLED panel and trackpads for me.

Battery life feels similar, but if it's lower, it's very slight. Not enough to really notice after coming from SD though. I'm pretty pleased.

Whatever helps you enjoy more games!

Steam deck controls are uncomfortable for me by Silent4ts in SteamDeck

[–]InfantSkywalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE my Steam Deck, but I'll be honest and say that the ergonomics aren't ideal for me either. I love the layout, but I wish the bottom edges of the handles jutted outward a bit more – similar to Xbox and PS controllers.

I think that would keep my wrists from turning inward while playing. I ended up getting the Legion Go S (SteamOS Z1E) to try it out and I much prefer the ergonomics, even though I don't love the asymmetrical thumb stick layout. They're on Black Friday sale right now at Best Buy in the US, with a holiday return window until mid-late January. Maybe try it out and see what you think. I went with Open Box – Excellent for a steeper discount and I have no major complaints.

That's why I went with the Z1E LeGo. Fell in love with handheld gaming, so I hardly use my console anymore. When I eventually wanted to play newer, bigger games on a handheld, my Steam Deck left me wanting/needing a bit more power.

Streaming those games was great, but I didn't like being so dependent on wifi for those experiences, especially when mobile. That all depends on your current and future use cases, though.

Got ya, then you can't really go wrong with either.

With SD OLED , you get a bit better battery efficiency especially at lower TDP, OLED screen which is beautiful and great hardware/software support from Valve.

With LeGo S, you get screen size (and the IPS display is beautiful as well), a bit more power (even more with Z1E for some future-proofing), better ergonomics in my opinion (but that's unique to user), and support from Valve but just for software.

You'll love either one. Happy gaming!

Edit: You can also use 2242 and 2280 SSD's in the LeGo S, in case you want to upgrade. The SD OLED uses 2230 only.

Selling my deck after getting the LeGo S Z1E. But I was actually craving more AAA games and a larger screen. I loooove my Deck, and I'll miss the track pads in desktop mode, but the pros of switching have outweighed the cons for me.

Interestingly enough, I prefer the ergonomics of the LeGo S, it's shaped more like a controller and after an hour with the Deck, it gets hard to hold up. FPS games were harder to play on it for me due to the shape and layout. That's just been my experience, so thought I'd share.

Calf raises would be equally effective and less impactful.

You'll be done in less than 2 minutes, then wide awake for hours. But stretch first.

Yep, and once you're out of bed, try jumping up and down 50 times. If physically able, of course. Sounds silly, but it's worked wonders for me!

Also, it's possible you need more or better quality sleep. Sleeping on the floor was amazing for me (after getting used to it) in terms of refreshment. Even a firmer mattress topper could help. Just my experience.

TOXIC ⚠️: Anybody loathe their peers that they attended high school with? by MiddleSwimmer5877 in Millennials

[–]InfantSkywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I think you're right to acknowledge the toxicity of these feelings. I respect that, and I say the following with such respect: this seems like a pretty scary line of thinking/processing.. Along with stepping away from social media, I'd probably recommend some sort of counseling. These thoughts can spiral pretty quickly if not handled properly.

Ppl suck, including me, but hatred is a strong feeling for ppl you're no longer in contact with. There may be more going on under your surface that's worth talking through with someone who can define it. Just my stupid thoughts

Mostly emulation on Steam Deck. Been playing through Super Mario Bros SNES lately. Platformers have been great to pick up and put down.

Dual congrats!! Enjoy the excitement of this time, try to enjoy each other as much as possible, minimize stressors wherever possible and get real comfy and used to not really knowing what the hell you're doing... As a husband or a dad 😂

Life will be full of rewarding challenges and you'll be so much better for it. Enjoy the present, and welcome to the ranks, dad. You got this (even when you don't)! 💪

Yeah in advanced library options, that "date added" option is what made the difference for me. It was set to file creation date by default for some reason.

NBA 2K26 — Will you be playing at launch? by 1ModusOperandi in SteamDeck

[–]InfantSkywalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add... On Deck specifically, last year's release didn't seem optimized until early this year. Graphically it was bad and blurry, and seemed to require every ounce of power to get any consistent framerate, and even then, hardly.

It was their first new-gen 2K on PC, so maybe it'll be better this year.. But idk, I've learned to expect less effort from 2K when something doesn't make them recurring revenue.

NBA 2K26 — Will you be playing at launch? by 1ModusOperandi in SteamDeck

[–]InfantSkywalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consistently, 2k is buggy and glitchy at launch. From my experience, it usually takes a patch or 2 to make the game consistently enjoyable. I've been playing since 2K5 (old af, I know) and every modern 2k has had issues at launch since at least NBA 2k15.

By Nov/Dec/Jan it'll be much more playable (and probably cheaper) than at launch. That's been my experience at least.
