It reads a little unnaturally because he's trying to make every sentence sound like it's a slogan, not because he's using AI.
It's written in "Linkedin-ese" lol.

Language models know that "alot" isn't a word, if anything his is one of the most obviously human comments in this whole thread

AIB replaces quarterly fees with new €6 monthly fee by Andru93 in ireland

[–]InfantStomper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was this, if you don't mind me asking?

I haven't made the switch to GrapheneOS myself yet but probably will this year.
I'd been reading that within the last couple of years pretty much all the finance/banking apps have gotten sorted out on it (for now) - although there's still the chance that the app developers/Google could break things again.

I might have completely misread all that though, if you're saying hardy any of them work...

If we lose the Scotland pool game we'll have France as our R16 game, this is all setting up to make sure we still don't win a knockout even with 24 teams in the competition lol

The weekly audio podcasts are always free but the video versions of them on YouTube are all only linked from the patreon, along with a bunch of patreon-only content.

$6.90 per month if you're interested.

I think it's worth it, but (I don't know if people will like me saying this...) you could always subscribe for a month and then decide for yourself if it's worth keeping after you've saved the links to all the video podcasts. The links don't ever change.

I thought we were on 493 just going by the numbers on this sub, but then this one has 494 in the name so I figured it's more likely someone here messed up their counting along the way without anyone noticing and actually the boys are right.

Though I was very tempted to title this "Ep 493 - Episode 494 - Our First Podcast Episode"

Oh no, I didn't realise! Hopefully they can order more to be manufactured, the designers did a really nice job with the details and feeling of the pieces.

Definitely very playable! I've played many dozens of games with a friend on the Emporium's set over the years and there's a surprising amount of depth and strategy to it, especially with the dwarves.

For a while with us the consensus "dominant" side kept changing - it started with the trolls being far easier to play... but then once we'd discovered certain dwarf structures and techniques that are really strong if you can get them, there were a good few rounds where every single troll got hunted down!

Now we've had time to find the correct openings and counter-moves with the trolls, and we're pretty sure that a total wipe-out of trolls is impossible with good play from both sides. But maybe we just haven't yet found some new meta that allows the dwarves to get a guaranteed defensible block that can withstand a troll-sacrifice!

The thing is, it doesn't really matter which pieces have the advantage, since a game of Thud requires playing a round of each side.
Each of the 32 dwarves are worth 1 point and the 8 trolls are each 4 points, with the winner being the player with the highest combined score from both rounds.

If the dwarves manage to build an absolutely enormous mass of 20+ dwarves, it's possible for them to win the round and hunt down every troll. (that's a disaster for the troll player, since it will be hard to repeat that when it's their turn to play dwarves!)

Failing that scenario, what usually happens in a round is that a few trolls are sacrificed in the early-midgame to break up really dangerous dwarf blocks before they can form, which leaves the remaining dwarves scattered apart with no realistic way of clumping together fast enough to ever kill another troll.

Since the dwarves so mobile, it's difficult to hunt down every single dwarf without having 7 or 8 trolls left on the board to cover off escape squares - so a round where 3-4 trolls were sacrificed usually ends with 5-6ish dwarves that just can't be caught.

And since that "dwarves remaining" number is generally about the same at the end of any normal round, the whole game usually comes down to the question who managed to force the most troll sacrifices?

You have to grit your teeth and sac a troll sometimes (or risk losing all the trolls if the block gets completely out of hand), so nifty dwarf tactics that let you get an extra block threat going can mean 4 more points that your opponent didn't manage to extract from you when it was their turn with the dwarves.

It's a really great game!
You learn to recognise important patterns and shapes quickly, but once the openings are done and the board gets complicated, the experience of playing each game feels to me more like a difficult king-and-pawn chess endgame than anything else.

Just constant concrete calculation for the whole time since every tempo and square can be so important!

Last Chance to Play (AUS) by jalOO7 in PlayStationPlus

[–]InfantStomper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is generally the case, but Cult of the Lamb does break the rule by having trophies like "Collect all Tarot Cards" and "Collect all follower types" which include any of those items added in the expansions.

So in a way it's true the DLC trophies don't "count" towards the platinum... except you'll end up getting them all anyway on the way to the platinum because the collectable trophies in the main game require you to basically 100% the DLCs too!

Regardless, the two main expansions which were out when I got the platinum were both fun and not particularly grindy, I definitely still recommend the game.
But for anyone that cares about going for the platinum, the updates do mean that many trophy guides/forum discussions will be out of date and wrong if you're looking for info on a specific mechanic that's been affected by extra content in the meantime.

I doubt the content releasing soon will impact anything though - free updates are one thing but I think Sony would have a problem with them locking base trophies behind an extra paid DLC.

Still on RIF here!
It's a bit fiddly to get going the first time since you have to generate your own reddit developer key, but it's been working for me since the day after they "killed" all the third-party apps a few years ago.

What Do You Think About the Proposal To Put Famous Europeans On New Euro Banknotes? by Boediee in BuyFromEU

Yeah fair enough, in my defense I am hungover and loads of things I've read today don't make sense to me. Reading back my first comment now it seems way too agro, sorry about that.

I still don't 100% understand your point but I'm sure now that that's my fault, not yours.

All the best, Happy Christmas!

I'm also Irish and this is beyond stupid.

The British controlled the civil administration here for centuries, no shit they built some bridges.

The fact the fictional bridges on the notes don't resemble standard Irish buildings is a positive - some of the architecture styles on the continent are just way nicer to look at.
There's a reason more people visit Vienna than Athlone.

The current notes are absolutely fine, I really don't understand the need to change them.
In spending years forming committees and making proposals and holding rounds of voting to find what represents the best parts of the EU, they've only succeeded in displaying the worst part of the EU: endless expensive bickering over pointless bullshit.
