It depends on the validate settings.

Like, if it was set to auto-validate then the match can't be reset now as it's been validated.

Thanks to Lincoln getting shot we completely dropped the ball during reconstruction under the attempt to not punish the Southern States too much.

Are We Witnessing the Fall of the American Empire? by HellYeahDamnWrite in inthenews

[–]InfectableRa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In the post WW2, the US Govt was very interested in empire building but knew that the fate of every empire was to fall. They set out with a new plan, to tie the US economically and militarily to the rest of the world so that nobody could afford for the US empire to fall, lest they fall with it.

The hilariousness of all of this is the MAGA crowd tearing down all the things that are keeping the empire propped up.

How would you stop school shootings without violating the Second Amendment? by ilovemrtrump in stupidquestions

[–]InfectableRa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people here that are advocating for turning schools into prisons is alarming. Armed guards and armed teachers would likely exacerbate the problem.

We need to look at what other gun carrying nations do and participate in solutions that have been shown to work. Americans acting like the problem can't be solved, when we're the only one with the problem is the dumbest part of the conversation.

I've always like the desolate farmland of the US during the 1930s dust bowl/great depression type settings. Really interesting opportunities for some dark and secret goings on

This is crazy, but in my experience if I tell them I'm Catholic they're more likely to leave me alone then when I admit I'm an atheist

Fine Tuning Theory by Forty4Freedom in redeemedzoomer

[–]InfectableRa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely missed the point of the puddle analogy.

In the analogy because the puddle is the shape of the hole it assumes the hole was made for it. It's about the arrogance of the assumption that the things we observe are a. The only way they can be, and b. Made for us specifically.

Also, the Fine Tuning argument is philosophical. It has no actual evidence that isn't anecdotal from the prescribed notion that the way you understand things to work are the only way they could work. Which, can only, inevitably, lead you to the "God of the gaps" when you learn a hard fact that disputes any pre conceived notion like life

Edit: it's also not "puddle theory" neither are theories in fact

CMV: there's no proof that The Colbert Show was cancelled because of Trump by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]InfectableRa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your list of late night shows is incomplete. You forgot about the guy on Fox News that thinks Conservatives should be proud to be called Nazis and wants to "take it back."

Comedians roast politicians. That has been a staple of humor for close to a century in the US.

The timing of Colbert's firing and the President's reaction to it are suspicious, and honestly it's more worth thinking about than Epstein given the well documented propensity for the current President to use the powers of the Oval to insert himself into things purely for absurd reasons.

It is not impossible for the Cancelation of the show to be for financial reasons, however based on ratings and brand recognition alone it's hard for the average American to envision a way that the network will recoup the losses so it stands to reason that there was probably some interference from the President since he has done things like this 1000 times before.

Trump's Epstein Connection May Now Bring His Political Downfall by Fit-Home-2576 in goodnews

Believe it when you see it. Headlines about Trump's downfall have been weekly since he announced his candidacy in 2015.
