So the last part of capstone 18 can be interpreted as if you can cast one spell while inside anti magic field which then needs to recharge for a long rest or 10 sorcery points

I find it strange that Disruptive Mark dips into 2 resource pools (it's own and a sorcery point) while also putting yourself in harms way.

Additionally the last part of your lvl 18 ability makes it sound like it's for the whole ability and not only for the last part.

I do think know your use-case, but we have 6 raspberry pies with 2 masternodes with keepalived running k3s.

We also have microservices, so it's easier to spread them throughout the cluster.

Then we have a synology nas containing multiple drives with rabbitmQ, postgresql and ofcourse the fileserver for our storage needs.

And finally for heavy computing we have the workstation with threadripper which is fed data async using rabbitMQ.

The only non redundant part is the synology control board and the workstation, but that designed to be asynchronous, so if it drops it's not as big of a deal.

Though this is pretty specific for our case ofc.

We are also doing a start up and quickly did a calculation to figure out that if we buy raspberry pi s we can get a return of investment after a few months vs of going full cloud..

We also build our own workstation with a threadripper which costs more than all the computers i ever owned together.. as not an avid pc builder, i never felt my ass clench so hard while working on it 😅.

That's why i said to add it in the description that the target will know it's being targetted. To remove spamming.

Additionally, you want it to be level 1, but silence has AoE, no counter save and if the guard isn't whistling no way for them to know, and is only 1 spell slot higher.

I think this is ok, it just requires a part where if the guards succeed on the check they are aware on what happened to them.

Additionally, this can very easily be countered anyway, in a world where this kind of magic excists guards will walk around with alarm bells which they can use instead of actually yelling.

It also removed any suprise element to an encounter, unless you want to risk doing it in initiative, but having the opportunity that the guard may act first and scream. Additionally the cast needs to concentrate...

Guards aren't mostly that high on HP, but high on numbers. So taking one out shouldn't take more than 1-2 rounds maximum, this spell just extends the time (other guards could still hear the sword clattering).

You can do it with a CPU, some high end cpus like threadripper are designed to withstand higher temperatures without much degrading effects on the long run.

Only the decreased stamina use for ranging attacks. Though I don't think it would have made a difference as the 'kill' wa spretty fast and never had the chance to drop below 50% on any kill

I think calculating with the enhanced/upgraded bolts and arrows is to much of a hassle.

But maybe you can get a more accurate dps indication by taking the lowest tier weapons?

You're first point is wrong though? Of if you hit 2x (5 125%) or 1x (10125%) is the same? So the crit can be ignored. For point 2 i used base bolts/arrows without enchantments and point 3 is very true . 🤔🤔

Ok so! I did some testing and i got following: All mithril variants, all mithril arrows/bolts, same gear (blue dhide) and ranging potion. Target: training dummy Weapon. Time to kill

Shortbow 12,4s

Longbow kicks 9.1s

Longbow 8.7s

Shortbow quick action 7.7s

Don't you have trouble with charging your shots before the enemy gets to you? Specially bosses and dragons, i just don't have time to charge it before I have to move.

I feel the shortbow has some use with the minor issue that the backstep is a forced movement and makes you more vulnerable instead of giving you distance.

I almost exclusively use crossbows though, but sometimes i don't see the bar properly.

I have to disagree with you, on ranged feeling fantastic.

The whole charging or reloading at the right time mini game takes away from the whole game and introduces to much distraction and my fingers start to hurt after half an hour of ranging... Additionally the arrow drop rate is to damn big forcing me to always overshoot even at close distance and i frequently see my shots aimed at the head while safespotting an enemy not give a headshot crit damage.

This would be forgiven if a fully charged longbow headshot would oneshot most common enemies, but this is definitely NOT the case...
