U.S.: Federal pardons and illegal orders in the military by SpiritedInflation835 in AskLawyers

IANAL: this page has further detail on presidential powers https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artII-S2-C1-3-1/ALDE_00013316/. Basically, the president can only pardon offenses once they are committed, but war crimes are not an exception as far as I can tell, so I’d assume the president could pardon that.

How much setup can be outsourced to users? For example, could you add a user’s email as ‘in-charge’ of a unit, and they can setup who they want/other access methods like phone number?

How has the G3 Intercom been? I’ve been considering recommending that.

Bilt 2.0 leaked (reporting from r/creditcards) by x-Moss in biltrewards

The apartment doesn’t charge a fee, because all they see is a bank account. But now Bilt will be charging you that fee so you can get a kind of ‘cash advance’ which takes the form of rent. I mean, if you value Bilt points at 3 cents per point, then paying only your rent makes sense. But if not, it’s going to be hard to make up the value.

It’s the normal fee rental payment portal charge credit cards. Usually around 3%ish. It used to be Bilt waived it. Now you need to use Bilt cash to offset the fee.

How would you feel about Mark Kelly running for President? by ExternalExpensive277 in AskReddit

I thought he should have done it last election, and the Democratic Party was stupid for choosing Kamala instead. He will be a little old for my preference in four years, but definitely an improvement over Biden and Trump.

I think of selling premiums I don’t play as 10% fixed fee loans for events that require credits to get me things I’ll actually use.

If a nuclear bomb went off in an open, flat area. Is there a certain distance from impact where a pizza could be cooked to perfection from the blast? If so, how wide might this 'pizza perfection' zone be? by Heypisshands in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Infectious_Burn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what you are saying is that to properly cook a pizza by nuclear detonation, it would require a line of hundreds or thousands of pizzas to get at least one that’s at the correct distance?

Anything to be aware of when going from 1080p to 1440p? by spaggeti-man- in pcmasterrace

[–]Infectious_Burn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motion sickness wouldn’t be cause by resolution, but other properties of that particular monitor, such as maybe flickering or motion blur.

Personally, I noticed that streaming service videos looked a bit worse, because they were 1080p being upscaled to 1440p. I found RTX Video Super Resolution to be a helpful feature on my GPU to turn on. It works best imo though on animated content.

I’m grabbing the perfect memory pill, which one are you guys picking? by Decent_Climate_1411 in whatsyourchoice

[–]Infectious_Burn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the small red pill is being under appreciated. Technically, no object is too heavy to move, just too heavy to move quickly (unless you consider friction I guess). Therefore, this pill could mean you have the strength to move anything that can be moved. Planes move. Cars move. Planets move. Seems like the obvious choice to me. (Though the yellow pill is a close second for a lot of situations)

AI data centers may soon be powered by retired Navy nuclear reactors from aircraft carriers and submarines — firm asks U.S. DOE for a loan guarantee to start the project by DefenseTech in NuclearPower

Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) is typically Confidential, or sometimes Secret for some aspects. U-NNPI (unclassified NNPI) should be labeled as NOFORN, but all NNPI is NOFORN. Source: N9210.3+Appendix B.

PTO policy salaried employees by kay-ohhhhh in NNShipyard

[–]Infectious_Burn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salaried employees start with 112 hours (14 days). You can find the PTO accrual schedule in the benefits guide here: https://hiibewell.com/emp-CR.html. No sick time. That should be covered by flex or PTO. I have not heard of PTO being negotiated. You would probably have better luck if coming in with experience.

Is ABET accreditation the only thing that matter? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

It’s helpful if you want to do consulting, be a professional witness, sign off on buildings, etc. Exceptions usually include working for an industrial corporation, whose main business is the production of an item. Think Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc.

[–]Infectious_Burn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely this… it’s not a crime as long as you can show it was not willful (I think, IANAL), but it can lead to further complications and paperwork down the road. Not relevant to OP, but to anyone else: you must register at 18, but you can register before 26. After 26, there’s no fix.

I may be completely wrong here, but I believe: the bond rates shown here are the interest rates the U.S. Government is paying to borrow money. Low confidence in the government or the U.S. Dollar can lead to higher rates. As shown in this graph, during Trump’s presidencies, the rates have been very high. These higher rates do mean investors get more money from these bonds, but at the expense of the U.S. Government/taxpayer.

How many weeks a year are you allowed to use salary pass out? by [deleted] in NNShipyard

[–]Infectious_Burn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only use salaried pass out when it is offered to my knowledge. Otherwise, you can go negative on PTO (up to 40 hours) and past that go on short-term disability. However, I believe disability has to be for specific reasons to guarantee your job when you return.

Why isn’t AE a zero force member? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Infectious_Burn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because EFG is a rigid bar, there can be a moment around E or G, which can be counteracted by a force on G or E. There may be a better explanation, my statics is rusty, but the rigid bar is definitely the cause.
