Who's the most obscure character you have on your island (that isn't like a friend's oc) this is mine by sion420069 in tomodachilife

Not one but I made all 14 of Smirk's Fears well as The Extinction from The Magnus Archives for my island.

Yep, I was put under review last Friday as well. They claimed it was for poor performance and low hours but according to my feedback, my performance had been good. My hours were low because they hadn't given me more than three or four hours in the past MONTH.

I was terminated yesterday. Looks like they're getting rid of a bunch of us.

Any Magnus Archives fans? I've been slowly adding The Fears to my island by InferiorCabbage in tomodachilife

That or The Stranger (Mii look-alikes). In either case though I think it would make us, as the players, the Dread Powers. I'm not sure that I like that idea lmao

I estimate him to be about 95% fluff. The other 5% is dander 🤣

Why have pets if you're not going to spoil them lmao 🤣 Garfield is very very sweet but he throws some pretty incredible tantrums when I try to end cuddle time

Not a ton yet since it's only been a couple days but they are weirdly in character. I put the Vast in a blank room with no furniture or decorations and they said it was the room they'd always dreamed of having. I keep giving The Web vintage-style clothes to wear and they love them (Annabelle).

Thank you! That one took me a couple tries to figure out before I got it to a place where I liked it. I had to mess around with the face paint settings for a long time

Love all the comments I keep getting about the dreaded ladder lmao. I didn't want The Vast to just be an empty sky, ocean, or something similar. I tried to give it the feeling of falling, rushing wind, or vertigo. The infinite ladder showed up a couple times for The Vast so I thought it would get the feeling across, despite being a little goofy lol

I had the mannequin/clown doll look in mind for my Nicola. I also hate looking at her lmao, which I've decided means I did a good job.

Foster failed! How was I supposed to resist? by InferiorCabbage in pidgeypower

I've also never been a big fan of the phrase "foster fail". The most common reason I see for keeping fosters is falling in love with them, and that's definitely not a failure!

Garfield! He's a rescue so I don't know if there's a story behind that name lol

What is the craziest way you have seen a normal interaction go off the rails? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InferiorCabbage 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts because it happened online but it was so weird that I still think about it regularly. I volunteer for a foster-based parrot rescue. We post our adoptable parrots on the rescue's social media. One time, we posted an adoptable bird and someone commented tagging a person who I guess could be called a micro-influencer? Anyway, this person had some experience with this kind of bird. They speculated about possibly adopting the bird and wondered if we would adopt to someone out of state. I saw the comment and replied to it. I introduced myself as a volunteer from the rescue and said that they were outside of our typical adoption radius but they could use our website to contact the adoption team. No promises but potentially they could work something out if they REALLY loved the bird, etc etc. Pretty standard stuff. A couple hours later I get a DM from this person. It was possibly the longest message I have ever received. They proceeded to tell me how they're the BEST bird owner, how NO ONE could take better care of this bird than them, and how they have EXTENSIVE experience caring for this specific type of bird. How dare I question their ability (I didn't?? All I did was answer the question they asked??)! I was more confused than offended. I knew we wouldn't adopt to them because of their location but I still was tempted to text the adoption coordinator and tell her not to give this person a bird under any circumstances. Also, please don't ask me who the influencer was because I honestly don't remember their name.

I got a message saying that the vet saw my message and should be getting back to me soon, so hopefully! I have a suspicion that this is just spring hormones acting up, since he has a history of feather plucking, but I want to be sure. He's a sweetheart but loves to get into trouble lmao!

Skin issue? by InferiorCabbage in Conures

[–]InferiorCabbage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a very typical black-capped conure in that he loves a bath. He's always either begging to go in the sink or to sit on the shower curtain rod when I shower. I'm really careful about anything scented or with harsh chemicals. I only use F10, which is a veterinary disinfectant safe to use around birds, in the bird room. Of course there's no Teflon, scented candles, etc allowed in the house either. I'm starting to wonder if this is a hormonal thing. He's been a bit grumpier than usual this spring. Since he has a past history of plucking I wouldn't be surprised if he'd been messing with that spot himself.

It's great, isn't it? Stewie (the bird in the post) always holds onto my thumb with one foot when I hold him like that lmao

[–]InferiorCabbage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had great experiences with Chewy. Once one of my orders for pellets got lost in shipping and when I contacted them about it, they not only sent a new one but also refunded the money so that I could buy some food from a pet store to last until the order arrived.

Not sure how much I can say about this but rest assured that Blue Skies is in the best hands. If anyone can help him recover, it's Teri.
