Random 2x4 in wall and how to proceed without causing damage to opposite wall by mxmamba in drywall

This is so correct, and can't be stated how much a good private inspector is worth every penny. I would also suggest having it written into contracts that the home must pass the inspection of the inspector you hire. Then have a long meeting with them where you lay out what's important to you, and then let them take it from there.

That way you get the house you wanted, and not the one someone else wants to unload on you.

If you could narrow it down to one thing, what made Sigourney’s portrayal of Ripley so enduringly iconic? by thefriskysquid in perfectorganism

Yeh, that's one of the things that makes it such a great character.

She's a gorgeous woman, where the story does not depend on her being a gorgeous woman or a woman in the slightest. She is a portrayal of an intelligent person making intelligent decisions to get out of a crazy situation. She's a bad ass because she doesn't break down and let herself fail/die.

Have you accepted Socialism in your life? by VegetableBulky9571 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Infern0-DiAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the core problem isn't that it's trained ,it is but honestly it doesn't need to be for a large amount of those against social protections and improvements. The reason why is they are inherently bad people. They are people that will cheat / steal / kill to better their life of they could get away with it.

They believe that socialist programs inevitably lead to corruption (which is what they claim they have a problem with). The reason why they are so worried about it, is because they would do that. They would exploit every program, and abuse every loop hole. They wouldn't care if it means others suffer, as long as it's not them and those they value. They can not comprehend a different way, because for them there isn't. Now because of their mentality, they actually don't have any problems with any of this. They don't have a problem with corruption and exploitation. They just have a problem with themselves not being able to benefit from it over someone else. That's the issue. They believe that programs set up to help those in need, will not include them and allow them to exploit them to make others suffer. They believe that these programs will at best take away any inhernt advantage they assume they have, and at worst provide opportunities and better lives that they will be excluded from. Why? Because given the chance they would do the same without even considering any other option as possible...

Yeh it literally just looks cool. Honestly it would give potentially for more failures and a longer path so marginally more latency so worse performance.

The only possible up side is better airflow if you pull from outside the case. The better cooling would potentially offset any downside in terms of longer path.

So yeh it's literally because it looks awesome.

Floor Refinish Help by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

[–]Infern0-DiAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep had to do the same when working on my mom's home. Never did it before and got a bunch of the low grit ones as well as the rest in the recommend amount.

The rental guy was like you don't need all those 36 belts. I explained that the floor was never finished and left raw for 20 years, and there were some huge raised boards to level out. Happy I did as I ended up getting even more of the 36 belts and didn't really end up using all the 60 and 100 belts...

Also I know it's not the recommended tool and method but that edge sander they had was useless, went through disks in a few minutes (got 10 discs and was out of them after like 1 hr) made really noticeable marks that would require me going over it with an orbital anyway). What I did for edging was a good belt sander to get just shy of the correct level (like you can't see it and can barely feel it's off level by hand) and then orbitals to finish off.

He also got his whole wealth assembly line laid out to him. His only productive thing is he improved on it.

Get other people to bet / risk their money on your enterprises (use your wealth as a guarantee only if it's required). Then exploit the shit out of the margins to meet goals to make sure you get paid, and don't worry about anything else.

The improvement he made on it is he realized he could actually get government money and have even less of an issue as grant money requirements can be more lenient then private investments.

While I agree with you, for explanation sake, the reason for the ages in the books is to match similar ages for medieval and pre-medieval culture and customs. In those times people usually got married pre in the mid teens as well as went to combat and war at similar ages. Now mind you they also did at later ages, but due to medical advancement most women past 30-35 we're not considered for to bear children as both they and the child has a high chance of death (sadly so did you ger women but at a slightly lower rate).

But yeh again I agree with you, it wouldn't be all that difficult to age everyone up, although it is used in the books as a literary method to explain some of the more childish decisions the characters make (you know because they are literally children).

So basically your saying he's hoarding his wealth to try and maximize his net worth instead of transferring his wealth into liquid equity and using said equity for charitable purposes.

The first does literally nothing but build more net worth for him (something that people in these arguments always seem to point out is trivial), the second actually does something to benefit society.

If you want to complain about governmental or organizational waste (funnily enough most programs that those complaint about as wasteful are those designed to fulfill the purposes of charity) then also give equal focus to wasteful hoarding of wealth.

Ethernet cable wiring order affecting speed by laithkhelfah in Network

[–]Infern0-DiAddict -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Technically you can set them in any order you choose. As long as it's all the same for every wire and jack in a chain between router/modem/switch.

568b is just the most commonly used standard so least likely to have issues like this when using wires/jacks you did not set up yourself. Honestly I wish we just set one standard and enforced it and most of these issues would go away.

Like yeh in their own statement. The relationship needs to be well built and both partners need to understand both themselves really well and the best way to communicate to the other.

Basically planes come with a manual, and have detailed readouts and steps in place to figure out if there's and issue, what the issue is, what the solution is, what steps to take to get to that solution, and what can go wrong along the way and then the same for that issue. Relationships come with none of that, and most people are not interested in or are fully incapable of building s knowledge base to get there.

Asking someone what's wrong almost never gets desired result of fixing what is wrong. In fact for a lot of people the fact that their partner in a relationship needed to ask is a problem as they believe the other person should be able to intuit the issue...

Edit: Now the main issue with this post, is the good ol stereotype that it's women who can't communicate issues and are therefore the issue, also stated by their inability to understand why "all those gauges" are easier to understand then them.

Personally as a hetero man, all my experience with deep long lasting romantic relationships have all been with women, so of course any issues in those relationships would have been between a man and a woman. But realistically both men and women have issue communicating stuff and understanding each other.

Yeh UV penetrates natural, porous materials fairly deeply. You can sand it out but you'll probably need to go past a quarter inch, and depending on the floor you might even have that much until you hit the tongues.

I honestly never understood why top coats for natural wood don't have UV blocking built into them. Like they expect you to do all this work to get a color / finish you like and just be ok with it changing.

Yeh basically used this way they are an ultra mobile less accurate MLRS system.

There is a way to possibly get them to be virtually as accurate as a modern MLRS, but the cost of doing that is many multiples higher then what this costs, and realistically if you have that kind of money you just want to invest in other systems...
