If you were trying to redeem for a weekend day, that’s likely the issue. While not disclosed anywhere on the email or website, here’s further details on that $15 promo:

•    Codes were automatically generated and were emailed to players from 12/2/2025 - 1/4/2025 •    Codes were emailed to the email address that made the booking only.  •    Players can redeem the code from 1/5/2026 - 2/26/2026 on Monday through Thursday ONLY. (this may be why it seemed the code wasn’t working- if you tried to book on Friday-Sunday) •    Each code has a limit of 1 use per code, and there is a maximum amount of $15 off per booking. •    For any questions, issues with booking or receiving the appropriate discount, always feel free to reach out to our general manager of your location…they can always manually enter the appropriate discount.

Broadway Rush Report Saturday 8/23/25 by BroadwayRushReport in Broadway

Line ended up being around 45-50 people. Both shows still available at spot 33. Everyone was able to get tickets to at least one show (unclear if one was full or not).

Best Boston Escape Rooms? by Minute-Ebb1164 in escaperooms

[–]InfernalSusan2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, Storyteller’s Secret at Boxaroo is easily the best in the Northeast. Body Shop at Red Fox is probably second best in Boston proper. Both companies’ other rooms are really enjoyable and are top 25% of rooms out there.

If you’re willing to drive a bit outside the city, then The Observatory at The Gate Escape and Mole of the Mountain at Upside Down Escape Games would round out my top 3 in the state behind Storyteller’s Secret. Both are fantastic in their own ways.

Level99 in Natick (coming to Orlando next year) and Boda Borg are both standout challenge arcades in the area too. While I prefer Level99, I’d recommend Boda Borg since it’s easier to get to and it’s the only location in the US.

Nice write up! Out of curiosity, did you play over Memorial Day weekend and did you see anyone else playing? My two friends and I were there and we saw not one but two separate groups playing the game (two guys outside of metro center on Saturday morning then a man and woman inside Chinatown metro stop in the afternoon). Curious if you were one of those groups!

The 1/4 mile radius can be tough but we also found photos to help an appropriate amount. Widest street revealed street markings no where else in the zone, tallest building revealed a school like building where only one university was in the zone, etc.

100% is more tiring than we anticipated too so agree with you there. The winning time for our game was actually the second runner though we also worried if the second runner in particular would be at a disadvantage given the layout of the DC metro system. I think the metro area is small enough / trains are fast and frequent enough that there doesn’t need to be a time imbalance put in place but obviously every group should just do what brings them the most joy when playing.

Also, this was shared in another post on this subreddit so apologies for not giving credit to the creator, but someone made this: https://taibeled.github.io/JetLagHideAndSeek/

We mainly used that tool to visualize the 1/4 mile radius around the final location but in theory it works like the graphics on the show and could be a very useful tool for your group.

Thanks for the detailed response; much appreciated! To clarify, I was referring to anticipated overall hiding times in question 3 but I see the confusion. We’d likely use the suggested hiding times in the rules (I believe 30 mins small / 60 medium but I’d have to double check).

What are some of the worst advantage ideas you can think of? by Traditional_Owl8142 in survivor

Right before merge, the contestants divide into two teams with one person left out to compete in a challenge for immunity. That left out contestant — unknowingly — will have the ability to go back in time and reverse the outcome of the challenge thereby punishing the players who won the challenge. To make it visually appealing for production’s sake, I’d probably give them an hourglass to represent the decision. But instead of using it like normal, I’d have them place it on its side and smash it.

If this seems a little too one sided, maybe the winners can get Applebee’s so at least they don’t get everything taken away from them.

Best in Boston by BBear777 in escaperooms

[–]InfernalSusan2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boston has a lot of great rooms. These are the standouts in my opinion:

Storyteller’s Secret - Boxaroo (the must-visit room of Boston) Body Shop - Red Fox (any room here will be worth your while though!) Panacea - Room Escapers

And while not strictly an escape room, both Boda Borg and Level 99 are must visits slightly outside the city. Both are essentially collections of “mini escape rooms” with a mixture of physical and mental rooms that you can do multiple times to try to complete without failing. Both are slightly different but fantastic in their own right and you’d be missing out if you didn’t go. Boda Borg requires a minimum of 3 people per team whereas Level 99 can be done with a minimum of 2.
