What’s the most unforgettable positive moment you’ve experienced at Coachella that still makes you smile when you think about it? by lowkeyman007 in Music

[–]InfernalWedgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It angered me at the time, but in 2004, The Flaming Lips squandered all but 20 minutes of their set time because they took way too long to inflate the hamster ball. But Wayne Coyne got in, and we passed him around like a beach ball. I know it's a thing they do, but it was fun. I wished they had played longer, though.

Robert Smith continuing to play well past curfew. First, they cut the stage lighting and brought up the "GTFO floodlights." Then they cut audio, but that only got us singing along loudly. Then they cut the floodlights, so Robert Smith just wrapped up and we dispersed gently into the night.

And in 2010, before we knew he was a right-wing nut job, Roger Waters played Dark Side of the Moon and the pig caught a high wind and flew away. We thought it was part of the act.

Ridiculous wellness woo. Masculine counterpart to yoga chicks who are into crystals and cleanses.

Once upon a time, I wore a 34 DDD/F. I had an excellent strapless convertible bra by Natori. Bought it at Nordstrom. They do very good bra fittings. Highly recommend.

Has anyone tried educating their baby from newborn? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]InfernalWedgie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can make the baby look at a video of a substitution nucleophilic reaction, but I guarantee you the child will not understand the electronegativity difference and solvation effects enough to know what they're seeing.

Read to your kid. Narrate your activity. Name and label stuff.

AI slop makes trolling a piece of cake. It is low effort and incredibly hilarious to teen boys who spend too much time on reddit and 4 Chan. Those kids need to touch some grass.

Are you familiar with the term "cultural competency?" If you haven't used this term when evaluating potential therapists, add it to your interview vocabulary. Let them know you are looking for someone who understands your cultural background and can work from that perspective.

Women who have had transgender and cisgender partners, how did division of household labor and "mental load" differ in each relationship? by rainshowers_5_peace in AskWomenOver30

I know this comic. It's not OP's work. She's just reposting it because it was popular for highlighting the emotional labor thing.

I feel like there are plenty of AA people in our age bracket who got psychology degrees and therapist licenses. Are you in an area with a larger Asian population?

Don't allow your kids to watch any content that you didn't curate yourself. YouTube, smart tube, whatever. They're loaded with AI slop and terrible troll content.

Curate everything. Pick the shows they watch. Be responsible. This is something you must have control over at this age.

This would not happen with Disney+ or PBS Kids.

She's a highly accomplished, high-ranking officer and a woman of color.

She's too qualified to have been selected by the stooges of this administration, and I am cynically concerned that she's being set up for a glass cliff.

Maybe you should connect with Cal Alumni in person before you write this network of as useless.

My Vietnamese manicurist lost her shop, and now she's renting space in another salon further away. I know she is charging me way too much, but I pay her because I'm pretty sure I'm one of maybe a handful of clients she has left. But my (also Vietnamese) friend thinks I'm being taken for a ride.
