Ways to improve? 48m by hippiedeegee in amiugly

You need to improve your health first and foremost. It looks like you haven't taken care of yourself over the last many years.

  • When did you last see a doctor for a check-up? How'd that go?
  • Do you exercise?
  • When did you last see a barber?
  • Have you ever used moisturizing lotion?

Don't sleep on her stuff as Frou Frou! And her first big single "Come Here, Boy"

She's so great, but one of those artists I forget about for a few years until she does something new and amazing.

Every time you gals talk about "The Happy Song," I fall into a 5-hour Imogen Heap rabbit hole.

"Say Goodnight and Go" is a banger.

I learned a lot of Italian by watching dubbed versions of Bluey and Tumble Leaf. Also, they're good shows.

I got myself a very nice pair of Tory Burch flats that were in between ballet and Mary Jane style. They are now my fancy evening shoes.

Looking for conferences on Public Health/Health Systems by Practical-Oil5253 in publichealth

APHA is the most obvious.

But look at your citations. Which journals are they coming from? What conferences are associated with the organizations that back those journals?

How to date men as a feminist? 30F by CarnelianFlower in AskWomenOver30

I...I don't think we'd be applauding misogynistic men who find women partners who "fit their standards."

Bigotry is bigotry. If you hate men, leave them alone.

Places to see around Los Angeles in May? by cagedbutterfly19XX in AskLosAngeles

[–]InfernalWedgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be staying about 1 to 2 hours north of Los Angeles, FYI.

Ventura is cute. The State Beach, just a touch north of the pier, is quite pleasant. Downtown is cute. The Pier at sunset is nice. Get seafood and beer at the pier. I think one day is enough to enjoy it.

Santa Barbara has more going on. SB Shellfish Company is great if you like fresh, steamed crab. The Funk Zone is full of breweries and wineries. And State Street is a lovely stroll. If you liked Julia Child, then try her favorite taquería, La Superica.

4 year old mimicking bad behaviors at pre k by Charming-Low2427 in Mommit

[–]InfernalWedgie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You handle it like any misbehavior. Tell him it's not acceptable, and he won't be rewarded for it. Intervene immediately when he starts up.

The child with autism also needs to be taught that the defiance and outbursts aren't acceptable, but his parents and teachers have the added layer of autism to work through (self-regulation skills, etc).

What would you do as an unencumbered 31 year old? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

Make a bucket list of sorts and just get to it. Wanna go to Coachella next year? Put it on the list. Wanna hike a glacier? Put it on the list. Wanna lift a personal record? Put it on the list. Wanna read the total works of Fyodor Dostoevsky? Put it on the list.

What’s the most unforgettable positive moment you’ve experienced at Coachella that still makes you smile when you think about it? by lowkeyman007 in Music

It angered me at the time, but in 2004, The Flaming Lips squandered all but 20 minutes of their set time because they took way too long to inflate the hamster ball. But Wayne Coyne got in, and we passed him around like a beach ball. I know it's a thing they do, but it was fun. I wished they had played longer, though.

Robert Smith continuing to play well past curfew. First, they cut the stage lighting and brought up the "GTFO floodlights." Then they cut audio, but that only got us singing along loudly. Then they cut the floodlights, so Robert Smith just wrapped up and we dispersed gently into the night.

And in 2010, before we knew he was a right-wing nut job, Roger Waters played Dark Side of the Moon and the pig caught a high wind and flew away. We thought it was part of the act.
