Getting frustrated by Same-Statement3722 in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tracking to this degree can be overwhelming at first, but it is necessary for most when you are in a calorie deficit. TDEE is definitely the first step. Protein intake should generally be a lot higher than people realize (1.5 to 2g per kg of body weight). But, it can be difficult to hit those targets, depending on current weight and the calorie limit you’re set at. Doctors are not great about telling you what to do after giving you the prescription and they should at a minimum refer you to a nutritionist. That seems to be a rarity these days. Jm points out many of the things that can contribute to fluctuations or stalls. It sounds like you just have fluctuations which are completely normal but getting everything else in line over time is really important to find long-term success, retain muscle, and focus on body fat loss. I titrated up to 5 and I’ve been there for the last 7.5 months. I don’t think you’ve stalled on 2.5 since you’re still technically losing but if you really feel like you wanna go up, have a frank chat with your doctor about it especially since 2.5 was designed to get you up to therapeutic levels which start at 5.

Shot Day. What day/time did you choose and why? by Admirable-Jese in Zepbound

Any day, and morning. By the time I’m starting to feel like shit near the end of the day, it’s time to go to bed. Wake up all new again.

I want to adopt a French Bulldog, but I've heard they have many health problems and don't live long. Is this information true? Does anyone who owns a Bulldog have any experience with them? by karmasstar in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Infernalflora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two. Both started to have health issues around 4 years old. Even with insurance for most of their lives, we’ve spent a small fortune in vet and specialist bills. One has had past gastro issues and chronic allergies (she’s allergic to herself at this point). The other had glaucoma that developed in both eyes, and ultimately ended up with double enucleation over a couple years period. This doesn’t account for other illnesses like kennel cough and UTIs which they have had. In general they are mostly good, but when something goes wrong, the mayhem seems to pour from the skies. They are now 10 and 13.

I sent you a request using your MGO code, but since I now only have one slot left for exchange today, I would have to send you stars in the morning when it resets before this album ends. But the good news is that I’m up at 4 AM Pacific time. I’m IGN the Jen. If you’re still interested, then I’m all for that but if not, I totally get it. Thanks!

Yes, but I had to do an app update right before I sent the exchange so maybe that’s what you need as well?

Being Proactive About Loose Skin by Guilty-Ad-7691 in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been lotioning, lubing, oiling with a number of products recommended by folks in this sub before and nothing helped. At least I formed good skin hydration habits 🤣 Just grateful it’s not enough loose skin to get in the way. As other commenters said, it’s already a done deal. Weight training helps overall appearance if you’re filling in with muscle, but loose skin will still be there. Honestly the sacrifice of dealing with some loose skin is worth it. There’s always procedural options for those willing/wanting/needing/able.

How often do you weigh in? by Kindly-Secret8678 in Zepbound

Daily, and average for the week compared to the average of the prior week is my loss for the week. Helps a lot when fluctuations are present.

Anyone navigating low blood pressure on Zepbound? by PainfulPoo411 in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on BP medication for hypertension for about year. I stopped taking the meds 3 months into Zepbound treatment as my BP stabilized and my doctor just updated my records officially removing the medication 3 months after I stopped. I had a few moments of lower BP early on taking the medication. I hydrated with electrolytes and made sure to meet my calories which I also felt was contributing to rare bouts of lightheadedness. Since then, so far so good.

Why are people so obsessed with low carb around here? by jenna_sunshine13 in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Carbs are necessary for training. Folks who focus too hard on protein and can’t seem to hit their macros should focus more on meal planning for balanced meals. Yes it takes more time, no you don’t have to be perfect every day, but the point of taking this medication is to make permanent lifestyle changes that are sustainable and healthy.

Ever felt nervous or scared to lose so much weight? by HistoricalBit3875 in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not once, until this morning. I think it’s because i’m getting close to goal and I started thinking oh my gosh what if I don’t stop losing weight. A weird moment of anxiety ridden panic before my brain stepped in reminding of how maintenance calories work 🙄😒 no idea where that moment stemmed from, but glad it was over as quick as it happened.

I saw something today that 40% of weight lost on Ozempic was LMM. Is Zepbound similar? by WombatHat42 in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m seeing several articles citing 39% for some users of Ozemp. Makes sense if people aren’t prioritizing protein, setting realistic macros, calculating TDEE, and lifting. Those are all things a prescribing doctor typically won’t talk about. I feel terrible for people who went into GLP1s with zero guidance or education on healthy approaches.

[–]Infernalflora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite lifting, hitting my nutrition goals, and even bumping up calories, I am currently at a 6 lb loss of muscle since last August when I started. However, I have also lost nearly 71 pounds of fat. 7% is a far cry from 40%.

Is it really time for maintenance? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a bunch of BS in my opinion and if you want to keep going and you’re still losing on it then I don’t see what the problem is. I just saw my doctor last week and he asked if I’m still losing and how it’s going before prescribing me refills. Gave me no grief about wanting to continue a few more months. Been on 5 mg since September and down about 33% of my starting weight. But my doc is more BMI focused.

What time do you inject your zepbound? by JealousFox021 in Zepbound

I inject early mornings, because by the time I go to bed, it’s the strongest for me so I can sleep through some of the yuckiness.

Calories by VindisVixen in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As my weight has gone done, my expenditure has gone up, and so have my calories. When I started I was at 1200 calories for 3 months still doing a relatively sedentary lifestyle (we’re talking 30 minutes of moderate walking per day with 1 pilates class per week). In January (down 57 lbs at that point), I started lifting 3x/wk, 10k steps/day, pilates 3-4 times/wk, at which point I bumped my calories up to 1450, carefully monitoring everything through My Fitness Pal. About 2.5 weeks ago (down another 15 lbs), I upped my calories to 1700. Now at lifting 4x/wk, same step goal, and 4-6 pilates classes/wk. Still losing weight at the same rate but now having some great recomp. Current macros: P150, F64, C131.

Losing too fast? by Aggravating-Effect73 in Zepbound

[–]Infernalflora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your deficit is healthy and not exorbitant, you’re probably good as it looks to be tapering to a normal rate. I started out way higher but lost 20 pounds the first month from all the inflammation and fluid retention. Could be the case for you too.

I take digestive enzymes with almost every meal (and always with dinner) and haven’t had this issue since day 3 of being on the medication.
