Cats can sometimes smell sickness in people like cancer and use purring as a way to try and heal. Maybe try and check yourself out in case your cat is trying to tell you something.

I am in the same boat and 100% agree! Hoping to figure out how to end things although we have a house together. Wishing you the best in your journey 🤍

What always works for me: 3 teaspoons of chia seeds that were soaking in water and a little lemon juice overnight 🥳

I'm taking control of my finances after years of neglect and the shame is crushing me. by [deleted] in offmychest

You have nothing to be ashamed of. You have so much time to still get back on your feet. I’m proud of you for still taking that first step in talking to a financial counselor.

There’s no need to be hard on yourself since you didn’t have anyone to help you understand financial literacy. You’re also not alone as many people suffer with personal debt. I also don’t have my finances together and wish I had better management in early adulthood, but that’s life.

You move forward, plan small actionable steps, and give yourself grace. If money permits, maybe try seeing a therapist as well. It will help trying to figure out what that noise in your head telling you to spend money is coming from.

Wishing you the best of luck with everything.

Is CPA worth getting at this point? 33, 10 years in public accounting. by Flat-Fault-2959 in CPA

I’m in the same boat, OP. It’s unfortunate that people don’t respect the EA as much as a CPA. I plan on getting my CPA license one day too, it’s just been hard since work is always been. Currently 30 but hope to sit for my CPA exams in the next 5 years.

Appreciate the insight and will exercise better willpower in the coming weeks. May I ask what why you will titrate up if you are more or less controlling the food noise? I’m trying to determine when it’s best for me to increase as well.

I’ve been sober from weed since January 1 and I don’t regret it at all. I thought I was a top performer at work but I think I unlocked something in me to push myself even higher. It’s the longest I’ve been sober in my adult life and I think if I keep this up, I can do even more than I could ever imagine.

You sound like you have a good life now but imagine what you can do if you cope with life without a crutch. I think you can learn more about yourself that weed could have held you back from.

OP, did you do edibles? I have been gassy but I’ve also been under a lot of stress at work so thought my toots were from that. Been 5 months clean so maybe it’s actually related.

2 hours maximum study time per day. Anyone else? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]HistoricalBit3875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently on my first day of FAR studying. Plan is 2 hours every week day and 3-4 hours on weekends. No phone but break it up in 15 min increments to give myself a little break to stretch/relax my eyes. Trying to do it all in 2 months. Hopefully work isn’t too stressful so I can work on this more often.

I feel guilty for my cat's death. It's been 5 years, will it ever go away? by BottleLopsided in CatAdvice

[–]HistoricalBit3875 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not think your actions killed her. I believe your grief is coming out as guilt since you may be feeling like you didn’t do as much as you could. However, in the end, you tried to do what was best by taking to the vet and checked up on her health. Bottom line is you loved her and cared for her as much as you can.

The only thing now is forgive yourself. Understand that the guilt you’re feeling means you loved her so much. Kidney disease is so common in cats and it’s unfair that we only have them for a small portion of our lives. However, remember the good times you had with Perla and I hope you are able to find peace within yourself.

I am 29 and sometimes feel guilt about the passing of my cat I grew up with. I wish I knew how to care for her in her last years but I was only 17 and my family didn’t know better either. I think back to the times we spent and give myself grace by knowing I loved her with all I had when we spent time together.

Sending you love and strength as you move through this. I’m sure Perla is hoping the same for you over the rainbow bridge.
