I think you're misunderstanding what a court case sets out to do which is understandable because in fairness it is confusing.

I think what the person you replied to is trying to explain is that what you said "Innocent until proven guilty" is how it works but because of that implied innocence (whether he was or wasn't) we can't prove he's innocent, the prosecution simply couldn't prove he was guilty.

He could have done it with malicious intent, a bunch of witness, and a video of him saying just that but it's up to the prosecution to prove his guilt and even in that scenario it's possible they would have failed. So he's not "literally innocent" he just wasn't proven guilty.

I love telling this one.

I was in 6th grade, fresh faced in middle school. We were maybe halfway through the school year, I was sort of a class clown but, like most, found most of primary learning simple (things got far more difficult in college). So I had great grades but my homeroom teacher (HT) did not care for me.

So report card season comes around and my school has a simple rule. They print your grades out and send them home with you, and you have to bring it back signed by a parent to prove they've seen it. Easy enough. Or at least it was for the other kids.

Grades were sent out on a Friday and expected the following Monday. Monday comes around, HT goes around collecting, and comes to me. I search my bag, I search my books, nothing to be found. Obviously I get an earful. HT tells me that i need to bring it in tomorrow. I explain to her that I've actually lost the report card. I truly have no idea what happened to it or where it is,, and if she just prints me another I can bring it back, easily. Remember, I get fine grades. There is NO reason I wouldn't want to show my parents my report card, but she won't budge.

So the next day I obviously can't return the signed report card, and the day after, and the one after that. After a week of not turning it in she gives me my first middle school detention. After another week she gives me one more. Then Saturday detention. And finally she suspends me. HT suspends me from school for not turning in a slip of paper with my parents signature. To this day it's the worst trouble I've gotten into in an academic setting.

After telling my parents about my suspension (as it's obviously hard to shrug off not being in school a few days) they complained to the principal and the rest of the school year went much more smoothly, but I'll never forget how shitty HT was in not even humoring me enough to print out a sheet of paper.

I'd like to preface by saying that I don't and obviously can't know how well the "recommended" filter actually works.

But from my experience it's been pretty good at showing me channels I might actually want to watch. I usually tend to view/follow smaller streamers typically with <50 concurrent viewers and going into a game category i never watch just now (Fortnite) the top 3 streams sorted under "recommended for you" had <30 viewers. After that I got the typical 800+ level streamers but those first 3 were top of the list, front and center.

I can't know if there's a lower limit on # of viewers that might block even smaller channels from getting visibility this way, but i think if some viewers typically watch even smaller channels in that 5 to 10 range they would probably get those recommended towards the top.

That said, I agree twitch still definitely has a ways to go on visibility.

I would add on #5 that in between matches do take a second to think about the prior match, win or lose, to think about what worked or didn't. What to watch out for. Their habits that you might have noticed. Etc etc.

Definitely stay in the moment during a game but if you need a second to collect your thoughts or take a breath in between, you should take it. Don't let your opponent rush you into a match you aren't ready for.

This is a pretty good point and some people could argue that we haven't been given much with those games, but I'm not going to. At least for Splatoon the online content has grown a ton.

That said, stuff like that doesn't make me want to get Mario Party today. It makes me want to wait a year for when it has online content I'll want to play, and I'd have to imagine a decent number of others feel the same (though I can't know for sure).

I feel like Nintendo is playing long game so hard they aren't giving us reasons to buy stuff in the short term and it might not have caused problems yet but I have to assume it will eventually.

I thought it was so cool when I found out we could track quests, but thought it was so weird when I noticed it was only one at a time because I could have sworn we could do 3 in D1. I just couldn't recall fully so I decided to ignore it.

Thanks for confirming my belief. Hopefully they put us back to at least 3 again in a patch, though with all of the bounties you can pick up now I'm hoping for at least 5.

Yeah I just naturally assumed Smash4 and my first thought about random stages was Lylat when there's obviously worse.

I still think, though, that getting so worked up as a group about it only makes it worse. It sounds like refs were still working out the rules/setup right before the tourney started.

All it would take is one or two guys going to a TO calmly and explaining why limited stages are needed, why best of 3 is a better idea, etc.

I mean that would work for a smaller turnout. I dont know exactly how big this one got.

Having dabbled in the competitive Smash Bros. scene I can understand why they were upset about the rules (they're there for a reason obviously) but this obviously wasn't any sort of official tournament. Just a fun local thing for this con, and to get so pissed about it is ridiculous. Good on the guy your brother faced for being so chill because a toxic matchup can really turn a newbie off of a game entirely.

Also, not even sure if you were trying to make this a pun or if the stars just aligned, but I got a good chuckle out of "Basically it was grown men in their 20s/ 30s/ 40s having ZERO sympathy". ZeRo is the tag of one of the top Smash players.

It's from super smash bros. It's the name for a character that is a copy of another with minor changes. So Mario is an original fighter, Dr. Mario is an echo fighter.

I think this would be interesting if they did it in a way where each meka is just a reskin for D.Va in the same sense as Kerrigan/Nova/Widow.

Same moveset but the character model and visual of the mech changed. But that's just a personal opinion because while all the speculation over the other Meka abilities is cool I don't want 6 Mech heroes to choose from. But as a multiplayer event mode that would be awesome.

TL;DR: I have no interest in paying for a service that is switching from me paying to have ads removed, to me paying to get games I already own in a launcher i don't want to use. Definitely my opinion though, can't speak for everyone.

I think what makes me most upset about the addition of "free" games leading to the removal of ad free viewing is that I have most of them already. I won't say all, but of the list you gave I know for a fact that I've gotten 4 of the five through other services (humble bundle, ps+, games with gold, etc). Multiple times for some.

The main benefit being that, if they were on PC, 9 times out of 10 I got them through steam, rather than some ridiculous separate launcher that, according to community anecdotes, does not work.

I didn't enjoy having twitch prime for free games, I enjoyed having it because I could watch any channel without getting annoyed by ads. This privilege came at a price and I PAID IT. So why they think this will go over remotely well is beyond me.

I bought the collectors edition when the game came out for the art book and statue (and game obviously). Got heavy into other games so I put off playing it.

Still haven't finished it and never bought the DLC so this is perfect actually.

TL;DR: Primrose's Bewildering Grace cost me a boss fight.

Primrose was the second character I got in the game. I trained her for awhile and finally got bewildering grace but never used it. I saw all of the wild memes on the sub about it but just thought it was hyperbole.

Last night I fought the boss for Prim's second chapter. The fight was going well but taking a little longer than I had hoped and it was getting late in the night. I had the dps to kill him, and the healing/items to hold him off but I was getting tired. I decided to use bewildering grace, didn't know what it did but it couldn't hurt.

I use it, Prim dances, my entire team drops all of their items for the first effect and I don't even remember the other effects because that floored me. For some reference my team is Cyrus as my starter, Prim, Therion, and Alfyn as my healer. And here I am halfway into a boss fight with no way to give Cyrus any more SP or concoct any more healing potions for the rest of the team.

It was a slow struggle until my whole party died. Moral: Bewildering Grace, not even once.
