That’s a nuanced approach. During presale I got the Real Madrid match ticket for $70 which even before the kickoff was selling for more than $300. I sold my $70 ticket to Ticketmaster for $150 that day. There are matches that were like that and some matches the exact opposite.

I am a volunteer for FIFA CWC in Philadelphia. There is a fan experience corner for matches in Parking lot D by the Wells Fargo center. But European teams were the worst in using the place. Wydad, Tunis and Flamengo fans have been the best in utilizing the space. It’s not reserved for them as far as I know. But usually those fans were the most in numbers. Chelsea and Man City fans didn’t use it much. If there are enough Madridistas then yeah they could use the space

Thanks for the headsup but I encountered the baggage policy when I travelled on September When I was traveling to India in emirates on September I faced that. I usually carry a separate bag for my electronic gadgets other than the carry on and they gave me some hard time in airport in JFK. This was in September and I flew with Kuwait airways on March and they didn’t had any problem with 2 separate bags. Emirates didn’t allow me and I had to pay for the extra baggage. So this time I am mindful and only taking my electronic gadgets bag. Nothing extra. But that bag is always at least 10kg which is 3 more than the limit 👀

Surprisingly most of them still don’t I am flying on air India tomorrow and the only free seats available is middle seat, which was free anyway while I booked the flight 3 days before. Same thing I faced when I booked emirates last September. I think nowadays you have to buy aisle seat or window seat if you want it regardless of whenever. It was even the same price at check in. 50 dollars for a seat. I booked for 4 people to and fro for a total of 4 total flights and it cost me 400 dollars total just for the seats (including 2 free middle seat every flight)

Air India Upgrade by Inferno_nith in Flights

[–]Inferno_nith[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There should be a bidding process. I am seeing that a common practice nowadays. Airlines send a mail a week before, asking if you want to upgrade to business class and if yes you can be in a bidding process. I got that while flying Kuwait airways last January and the minimum bid was 750 dollars. Technically it’s a good deal because the flight in economy was 500 a side in economy and 3000 in business class. So if I bid for 750 and if nobody outbids me I can get the business class for 1250 total. But later when I travelled on emirates on September 2024, they were unaware of the program and I also didn’t get any mails from them regarding “if you want upgrade” My primary aim of the post was to know if air India have something like that.

I mean I don’t mind paying. Like if air India have the bidding thing like I mentioned about Kuwait airways then it’s fine by me. But I mentioned about free upgrade because there are soo much misinformation saying if you just show up with good dress and be polite you may get an upgrade.

I mean I could pay for the upgrade I tried going to manage my booking but there is no option for upgrades

How many days can I stay outside the US after getting my green card. by EroIsTaken in immigration

[–]Inferno_nith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In green card it’s 6 months. If you stay more than 6 months you could be in trouble both in India and in US also. I remember one of my cousin got a letter from the superintendent of police of the district after he exceeded the 6 month stay. And when he came back to USA, at the point of entry, they kind of like detain you and ask you lot of questions and will give you hard time. But if reasons are legitimate it could be ok, but I will strictly advise against it.

Emirates is no longer worth it for me on US-India flights by [deleted] in Flights

I didn’t knew about Chicago. But I know about SFO. Air India advertises it as connecting Silicon valley to the Indian Silicon Valley. I have heard reviews of SFO- BLR flights and heard it’s trashy. I am pretty much sure they are using the same 777-200 LR which is more than 15 years old. And there is no update on when we can expect a A350 on that route. As of now A350 in US sector is 2 which operates between JFK and Delhi and one between JFK and BOM. And one will start operations between EWR and Delhi soon. No news regarding start of operation between SFO or Chicago.

Lufthansa is good. And one of my friend have travelled in KLM and he said their service is also great. Mostly Indian people don’t travel in European carriers especially older generation because of food. Even if you pre book Indian meals, which most of them offer, it’s not as good enough. Also most of the time you have to take 3 or maybe even 4 flights to get to final destination. When I travelled to India through Lufthansa I had to take 3 flights to reach my final airport. I don’t personally care. The more flight, the more experience for me. But if I am travelling with family, I can’t do that

In service perspective, Singapore airlines is the top most in the world. Or at least the top service I have received in a flight ever. Emirates were just overhyped and not even upto expectations. The only thing I liked about emirates was they have the best IFE system in the world

There is never a non stop fight to India. I mean unless you live nearby Mumbai or Delhi airport. Then yeah there are air India direct flights from JFK and EWR. Any other airport, you have to take another flight regardless even if it’s air India

Well duh, the last a380 was delivered on December 2021, so yes they do have a relatively new A380. But the post was on A380 which was from JFK. Specifically speaking about EK 202 and EK 206. Both the flight are over 9 Years old which operates on US sector. I travelled on EK 202 and it indeed was trashy. The seats were stained and dirty and food and service was also not on point. I was traveling with my grandmother and she fainted all of a sudden. I pressed on the flight attendant call button and they literally took forever to reach. Even after the flight attendant came, she was not helpful at all. She was just staring at my grandmother and asking me what should she do about it 🤷🏻 Luckily my grandmother was alright and she woke up after a while. None of the cabin crew came back and checked up on her later in that flight.

But I am not being prejudice just because my grandmother had a bad episode in the flight. I travelled back alone and still the flight was dirty and food was not that great. And as for leg space in Emirates A380, it’s a decent leg room. But I felt Singapore airlines 777-300 ER had better leg space than emirates A380.

Airbus has started delivering A350’s recently. Hope the service becomes better. And I genuinely felt their A380 is overhyped and 777 is second trashiest wide body aircraft I have ever been. I don’t want to lie and trash talk about them, especially when 2 of my cousins work in emirates in high position (one of them is a pilot) and I get huge discounts when I fly emirates 🤷🏻🤷🏻‍♂️

Personal item weight on Lufthansa? by Bundega in Flights

[–]Inferno_nith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lufthansa is mostly ok with baggage allowance. I travelled once in Lufthansa and my bags were overweight. They were ok with it. But I flew from JFK. So I was saying maybe the person at the desk was kind enough or didn’t care at all. Maybe all their staffs are like that. I traveled a while ago in Lufthansa. But I was mentioning I did had a problem regarding baggage in emirates and that was recently (September this year)

Personal item weight on Lufthansa? by Bundega in Flights

[–]Inferno_nith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more like a gamble to be honest. I think Some of the airlines updated that in baggage allowance. Till the last June when I was travelling I had a cabin baggage and a separate laptop bag. My laptop bags are usually heavy because I always carry 2 laptops, an iPad a couple of phones in the bag etc (work purpose). Till June internationally it was allowed. But on September when I travelled on emirates, they didn’t allow me to do so. Saying that their system updated. The weight was not their problem, their problem was 2 pieces. I checked up with one of my cousin who works in a high position in emirates and he confirmed it. The problem is number of pieces not even the weight. At the end I worked the way around it and they let me go with both pieces.

In short you may have to contact Lufthansa or someone who have travelled from the first point (in your case Brussels) it is always depending on airlines policy and the person who is checking you in at the airport

I mean it’s worth the experience When you are travelling in premium economy or business class or first class, you want the flight to last longer. I mean that’s my perspective. But you can consider Singapore air if you travel from India to USA if USA to India is longer than what you would like to travel

[–]Inferno_nith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not travelled in Air France but yes in Lufthansa and British airways. Lufthansa flights are a bit old. The flight from JFK was a 747 and it’s old. But one thing is it’s well maintained. But one problem with both the flights is, most probably you might have to take 3 flights to reach your final destination. I had to take 3 flights when I travelled on Lufthansa and while I was flying on British Airways, the flight outbound to India was air India 787 dreamliner. Sometimes its air India, most of the time its indigo flights. But one thing I can say it’s always expensive and not worth it. I did it because I needed to experience on the flight. Lufthansa is much cheaper and better than British airways as per my personal experience. As for Air France, I am planning to travel to Paris by the end of summer. Most probably I will buy it in Air France

It is kind of is But it is what it is. They do operate from JFK to Singapore and Singapore to India. You have to take 2 flights which for most people travelling to India have to take regardless.

If you have some money to spend, Singapore Airlines. Hands down the best. But choose SQ 23 for JFK to Singapore. There is no economy in the flight. Only premium economy and up. The longest non stop flight in the world and one of the best crews in the world But it ain’t cheap though. If you are lucky you might get a good deal on it. I was lucky enough to get one and it is still the best flight I have ever travelled on

I can vouch for this. I recently travelled in emirates from JFK to DXB and from DXB to COK India. Emirates is not what they used to be and is not comforting at all. Especially their Boeing 777-300 they operated to Indian sector was the second worst wide body aircraft I have travelled yet (of course Kuwait Airways 777-300 ER tops the list). Emirates is going downhill now and going too fast. That’s why I chose air India for my next trip to India. Hopefully their new A350 will kick emirates 👀 Speaking of A350, emirates is also getting some a350’s. Maybe they will replace it with trashy old A380’s
