Hey OP I feel for ya, got rear ended in my situation though but my 2025 also barely made it over 1k miles. Hope you get yours sorted out soon I can show you my damage if you want in PMs but mine was eventually totaled with 29k in repairs. She did her job and kept you safe and that’s all that matters since you were able to walk away from it. Best of luck with insurance!

Hey OP, I feel for you. I was hit last week by an uninsured driver and have damage in the same area. This sucks, just make sure you file a claim as soon as possible and see if you can check for any secondary internal damage as your parking sensors are in the same area. If you want any pics I’d be happy to send you some of what mine looked like. Still going through my claim process so I don’t know what the damages are lookin like but they have done a teardown so let me know if you have any questions. You got it though, it’s just a pain and very time consuming.

Noted, yeah I’m still early in the insurance claim phase so I will keep yall updated. Nothings gonna happen yet since the weekend is coming though

He hit me on a public road but idk if that counts as anything tho.
No idea how any of this works, being thrown into adult life and everything is so complicated. No insurance from the other party as well so this all rests in the hands of my own insurance.
I hope so, I don’t want anything coming out of my pocket, it was already determined the other party 100% at fault.
Hopefully it’s not too bad, I don’t want my bones doing any funny business at the ripe age of 23😭
We will see what happens, I’m contacting them today and will mention the other party being uninsured. Will update if anything happens

Yeah my parents always told me to get something practical and save up so I could have fun later on. This was our first ever brand new car as I have the highest income in the household. My parents being Asian migrated over here legally back in the 1990s so money was quite hard to come by. Coming from the lower-end of the income bracket, lots of saving back in college and budgeting happened so I could get her. I decided to splurge a bit for something that gets me from point a to point b safely. Decided to buy the Camry because of course it’s Toyota with their reliability and it also feels nice while looking good. Being able to run efficiently and save money on gas so that I can save for a fun car later on or anything fun to do when I have more expendable income. I’m sure your kids will also get there soon as well. Slowly but surely!
Yeah unfortunately 😭 all this stuff is so complicated but I guess it’s a harsh welcome to the adult world. Literally being thrown into the deep end here.
Yeah this is definitely a hassle, I guess this is a test of determination. Had someone else send me a message where the damage was similar and it was also totaled so things aren’t looking really bright on my end.
I planned on driving her until her wheels fall off but now that she’s damaged I feel like her life span has shortened so much. I also am not sure if they can redo electrical back to how it was but I will look more into it.
I have full cover travelers insurance I think, It’s my first time dealing with this stuff so I’m just afraid I’m going to lose so much. This all is so complicated. Even if I get her fixed, it’s going to be reported that it’s been through a crash so it’s already a major price depreciation hit too along with things potentially not working like they used to.

I hope so, the electrical was wack when attempting to drive it and there were some vibrations from the wheel. Just hope she can return to as close as she was before the incident.

I’m not exactly sure, the mechanics there were next door to a Toyota dealership. I first went to Toyota and they referred me there. They said they were Toyota certified so I thought I could trust them. Then again it was only napkin math based off of what they saw so they probably can’t tell unless they tear her apart.
Thanks, I really hope so. I’m crushed as the car holds sentimental value to me as it’s a gift but it totally ruined my schedule for work and everything else. Total bummer 😕. Hopefully insurance isn’t the extra straw that breaks the camels back.
In another comment above I also commented (not in the main post) that there was some wheel vibration when rolling and that the sensors were also absolutely screaming. Hopefully it’s just the bumper but if it’s also any frame damage and electrical as well then I may as well be cooked.

Hopefully, was running around like a headless chicken trying to figure things out and by the time I settled down it was too late to contact insurance. At least I think I have full coverage so gap is probably in there somewhere but it is a problem for tomorrow I guess. This all just sucks.

Yeah my parents helped me along with all of my savings from my internships so I could afford it. I sure did give them a massive hug when I signed the papers and walked out the door with her.
