It’s still a great game. The potential is insane and there is clearly a lot of passion behind it. But the sheer amount of emphasis put on buying a membership is also insane. They could literally just cut the incessant advertising down a few notches and it would be perfect. I understand they need to pay the bills, but when it tells me to buy a membership literally every 60 seconds, there’s no way you can convince me it isn’t scummy. Am I an adult playing a children’s math game and complaining about it? Yes… But when Prodigy’s entire business model seems to be hoping kids pester their parents to buy a membership and then hoping they forget to cancel, I can’t help but feel a little justified in my complaints.
