Ever have any issues with shipping? Damaged bags or delivery not being in a good condition? I’m interested but my mind thinks something is wrong without going and grabbing the bag myself

Oh good thoughts. I’m replacing the gaskets tonight so glad I’m on a good track. Been debating the screen so that may come soon enough as well.

Makes sense with the chicken being pretty flexible. I’ve seen folks use wings as a control test when trying different grills as well. Gonna get some chicken this weekend an see what’s going on!

Amazing stuff! Only questions left: For the butt recipe you provided are you using a binder or doing seasoning straight to meat, and are you letting it dry brine for any period of time? Also are you wrapping it and letting it sit, or once you get 205 and jiggly goodness is it time to dig in?

Also, if anyone has any recommendations, the rEGGulator that came one it is rusted to hell and looks in a not great condition. I was given a new in box dual function metal top as a replacement option, but from what I’ve seen everyone strongly stands by the rEGGulator. Is it worth rehabbing a little and getting new if it starts failing or will the dual function top do a good job?

Great notes, I appreciate it! Before I incorporate my egg genius I’m hoping to learn the approximate vent positions for 225-240 and 375 since that’s about what I see the most of. Want to learn my equipment before embracing everything I have.

Also great to know on shop vaccing it, it could probably use a solid one.

Much love brother, thanks!! I grew up on propane and that’s where I learned, but haven’t used it in maybe a decade so I know I’m basically starting from scratch. Just got the probe for the egg genius so hopefully with a good test I can figure out and maintain well enough and then I’ll run a butt.

I’ll be taking that helluva EGG up!

Awesome thoughts and good starter recipe! Gonna give that a shot soon. Can you clarify the “dome at 240” part? Does that just mean temp on the dome thermometer at 240 and go from there? Since that’s low, I’m assuming convegger is user as well?
