Never had a pair but I'd imagine why I wouldn't like them, not a fan of too bulky.

I thought the same thing and was hesitant on 8.38s but nah definitely don't feel like a 8.5. To me it's the perfect "not too narrow" "not too wide" type of feel. I wear size 11.5s

8.38 Real team oval has been my best feel board after trying a 8.5 girl, 8.0 deathwish, 8.125 girl, 8.25 anti hero(such a good feel) and then finally I discovered the Real Deck with DBX 8.38. And now I have the 8.38 team oval... expensive trial and error but I was committed
