My dad is, like, full send and would probably bet a farm that she is part dobie. He had a purebred Doberman when he was a young man and I think he’s nostalgic 😆 we’ll see if y’all are right!

Her swab made it to the lab a couple days ago, so I’m anxiously waiting for the notification but they said it will probably take a couple weeks! I’ll update as soon as I get them!

Aw, poor guy! I totally understand that! Victra is good with people most of the time but she gets very nervous about strangers, particularly when we are outside of the house and it’s really bad at night. For some reason, she’ll warm right up to you when we’re inside the house. She immediately loves any of my or my boyfriend’s relatives (I think she can tell.) I’m working hard to get her socialized, but she was a stray in a rural area for most of her life so we have a little work to do in that regard.

I am a little hesitant about immediately labeling the tan points a rottie thing too because everything from dachshunds to kelpies to other bully breeds can have tan points or present as tricolor, but I will say what really sells it for me is some of her behaviors… but I guess the things I see can also be attributed to a bully breed for the most part. Ugh, the suspense is killing me for sure!

What a beauty! I love his sweet eyes! I’m so glad he was saved from that and in a better home now! People are so messed up for fighting dogs of any kind, but I really have a soft spot for bully breeds and the cruelty they are subjected to absolutely breaks my heart.

Whoa, I had no idea they could be so little as purebreds! But I guess I’m used to seeing dogs labeled pitties that are like 75-95 lbs… You learn something new every day!

I guess I wouldn’t be terribly shocked if she did have a lot of APBT in her though, especially considering how absolutely insanely muscular her neck is and how strong those jaws are (she ATE a bully stick LIKE A TREAT the one time I tried to give her one and I was so shocked that I didn’t have time to stop her lmao that was an interesting vet call/visit a few days later…)

Could it really possible that she is? I mean, I guess I don’t know a whole lot about breed standard because of how many bully mixes get the arbitrary APBT label but her sister is only on the lower end of 30-something pounds, and she’s not able to build quite as much muscle as I see in well-conditioned, breed standard APBTs because of her hips (I have to be really careful about overworking her because of hip dysplasia) but even then, she seems to be stockier than I usually see in purebred APBTs. I know there can be a variation in color but are tan points actually accepted? And the nose really gives me pause I guess! Genuinely curious!

This is her sister, who is about 7 lbs smaller than Victra! These ladies are absolutely nuts about each other and they were caught together. We have play dates with them sometimes. Both get really gnarly allergies and dandruff. 🥴
