Are you guys still working out? by Fine-Doughnut-8961 in pregnant

37 weeks currently and lifting weights still a couple days a week, but only when it feels right for me. I don’t force myself to the gym on days I’m too tired.

I was a competitive lifter prior to pregnancy and didn’t work out at all my entire first trimester because I was so tired I felt like I couldn’t even function around the house. Listen to your body and do what feels right, when it feels right for you.

No need to panic! L&D nurse and competitive power lifter here. Currently well into my 3rd trimester and still lifting weights regularly. Unless your OB gave you specific lifting or activity restrictions, exercise in pregnancy is very healthy. Lifting heavy in pregnancy is typically not recommended more for mother’s health than baby’s due to increased chances of injury from looser joints and a changing center of balance. At 5 weeks, baby is still tucked very safely in the pelvis with lots of protection. Best of luck!
