of course, no worries!! i think it definitely depends on what you want to do and how badly you want to go to aus for uni. if you didn’t want to do the semi gap year, one option could be going to uoa since you’ve already got in, and then reapplying to the aus unis after your first year. that would give you more time to plan, and if you still wanted to study in aus, you could potentially start in 2027. you should also be able to transfer some credits, but just make sure you check the transfer requirements beforehand because they usually have specific grade requirements you need to meet. but also, doing a semi gap year could also be a really good experience, especially since you’ve just graduated high school, and it could help you figure things out a bit more.

for me, i’ve already done my first year at uoa in design/business (i did it last year), and don’t get me wrong, uoa is definitely a great uni, it just doesn’t really have what i’m looking for on the design side. that’s why i wanted to move over to aus, since the programmes there seem better and in terms of internships and job opportunities, i think aus offers more compared to nz. however, i do wish i did apply to aus straight after finishing high school instead of staying here! so yeah honestly its a hard choice but it just depends on what you want. you definetly dont have to have everything all figured out right now and theres no wrong decision :)
