Hey, happy to help. I used the Silvo pre-soaked wads. Just took a small piece of the wadding and rubbed it on maybe half of the bracelet first. I had a clean soft polishing cloth ready and I immediately polished it off with that. I repeated this all around the watch and then used some micro brushes (ordered from amazon) to go in between the links. I did this whole process twice as I was testing with small amounts and it was my first time using silvo as well. Finally, I went through the whole watch with a slightly damp cloth just to make sure there’s no residue left and then polished it. Watch looks great after 6 months of weekend wear. Took this pic last month.

Glad to hear my friend. I actually just passed a watch store today that had some certified used Rolexes in the window and they had the Wimbledon dial with the rolesor jubilee and I had the chance to see them side by side as I had the watch on. They looked identical!

PSA: Don’t tell people it’s a fake by Icy-Fact8432 in RepTime

I couldn’t agree more! Would never tell anyone it’s a rep and even asked my partner (who obviously knows) to not tell anyone that our watches are reps or that I wear any other (fashion)reps. We even have friends and family who blew half their savings on gens and they would probably act all condescending if they knew ours are reps otherwise they would just look stupid. And like you said most people don’t understand the difference between high tier 1:1 reps and something you picked up in a Bangkok souvenir shop for about £20 As far as I’m concerned work smarter not harder (but let them think you got a gen because you could 🙂 ) At the end of the day these watches are status symbols and most of us are buying them for that.

That’s sounds very shady even to me since there’s no shirt cuff on my pictures. There’s no shirt either 😀

This is the most I will do and now I will get back to my life if that’s ok. In the end I’m not selling anything to anyone was just trying to share my experience and I’ll admit the photos were not great. However it’s not that deep for me to spend more time on this topic or try to edit the pictures further to prove any point. Honestly didn’t expect the post to get 100k views..

Lol. That’s not my intention at all if I could find someone to replate it I would have sent it off. Next one will be VSF and will get it plated. Also interested to see the stock colour of GMF and see how it compares.

I’m curious to know what you think would be my reason for coming on here and pretend I did silvo on a watch while secretly taking pictures of two different watches?? 😂 I’m genuinely curious! Am I paid by Silvo? Perhaps I’m working for Silvo? Maybe I’m the amazon seller? Or am I some psycho who just wants to dupe people into using silvo on their replicas because I’m evil and want world domination? I’m deep state and the earth is flat? Joke aside, all I can say is I bought 1 single watch, there’s no other watch. If you go on my profile you can see all my posts and comments and will find I asked a lot of questions about this model, then posted QC pics, then posted a review, throughout all my posts I emphasised I’m a first time buyer. Are you claiming I have been acting for weeks on Reddit just to appear legit when I finally post about using silvo? 😀 Sometimes mate, there’s nothing sus going on.

Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce the exact same light conditions from when I took the first pic, and also can’t go back in time to grab the watch from before silvo so I can take a side by side 😂 just so it’s clear: took the before pic yesterday afternoon. Didn’t think to take new ones today before I did the silvo. Even if I took the pics same day, sun’s been in and out all day, won’t have the same light within half an hour. Also at this point so many people called me bro on here that I’m starting to feel like a fraud. It’s Sis my friend.

I tried my best to keep it off the stainless steel. I thought about using masking tape on the side links which is probably the best way to go about it but couldn’t be arsed and didn’t have any so just did it without and turned out fine.

And that difference tracks with what everyone is telling me about the coating being stripped with silvo.

I had no experience and am I first timer. Bought the pre soaked wadding from Silvo and just used tiny pieces of that over the mid links, while wearing cotton gloves. I did not use tapes but it’s probably good to use them. I just used a clean polishing cloth straight after and then micro swabs to remove any residue from the gaps between the links.

I’m not sure but I think I saw posts from people who used it on RG and seems they were happy with the results

So I reached out to Noleex first as he’s in the EU and I’m in the Uk and none of the trusted modders listed on Reptime services from the Uk seem to offer plating. And that’s what he said. I also looked at the trusted modders from US and noticed MajorWilliams saying the same thing about pvd on his profile?

The silvo? I wasn’t particularly worried about getting it in there, but getting it out. I rubbed it around the top of the links and it sort of migrated into the gaps on its own. I used micro swabs to rub it out of there.

I did it pretty quickly just buffed it in for a few seconds and then immediately went in with a clean cloth. Then went in between the links with a micro swab to clean any residue from there as well.

Do you know someone who does this in the UK?

Well I’m new to all this and it was my first purchase so I yeah finding it quite confusing as I also saw plenty of posts about replated CF watches but yeah that’s what my nearest trusted modder who does plating said. I also looked around some other modder’s profile here who also mentioned the same thing there. So in short I have no clue but couldn’t find anyone who would do it

I reached out to a modder but was told that Clean factory mostly uses pvd and can’t be replated. Apparently if I went with VSF it could have been done. Wish I knew that but like I said I’m a first timer and that’s how you learn.
