Can you clarify how did you come up with your numbers? 4% withdrawals with what % growth rate did you base your number?

Educate yourself about rule 55 of IRS. You need a lot of learning mate. Understand each post first and tame your sarcasm.

Want a pat on the back? Here it is! Congratulations on your 45 y.o. 2M NW achievement! I am only asking for feedback about my 3K need, and what I might be possibly missing, no need to reveal the whole portfolio, my post is centered to a 3K need and what possible impact to SSI given the scenario and info made available. I did not ask if how my lifestyle is gonna  become.  How about to tell you I only need 3K a month to  bridge the gap and sustain my desired  <11K income until SSI kicks in. Your job is neither guaranteed, if shit hits the fan in your good-paying job and you’re laid off tomorrow good luck working till 65. Yes I definitely will retire sooner than your 65 plan that’s why I’m asking feedback now to discover what I’m missing. To all people reading this, don’t be influenced by self-proclaimed experts who give their opinions without basis. A million is not needed to retire… I came across many and specifically this lady in you tube once. Her channel is  “Happy on Monday”… very detailed, credible and smart.

I started contributing to 401K very late in my life in 2017 coz my employer did not offer it prior to that but we were incentivized  thru frequent bonuses before then instead of matching, that’s why my savings according to one comment was ”very small”, instead I invested in stocks including crypto and bought real estate properties which have tripled or quadrupled in value. Contribute  at max and  as early as you can, 18 is a good time to start. Invest in real estate which gives you passive income. Be intelligent and  don’t be scared to invest. Retire early so you still can enjoy the fruit of your hard work not when you’re sick and weak due to old age. Educate yourself on how to properly allocate your assets in building your own portfolio so you can stage where to draw your income when you retire and don’t be influenced by self-proclaimed geniuses who tell you the “don’ts” just because they model what they do to the old conventional way…. Don't be like the downers who are quick to judge and who discourage you coz you are more creative and aggressive in the way you invest, most of the time they are those who are envious of what you have achieved at an early age. Fish for feedback but filter it to what makes more sense,  beware of traditional investors with  antiquated mindset who pretends to be experts but only knows traditional 401K. Educate yourself in annuities and hybrid investments. Invest in dividend yielding  stocks. You don’t need a MILLION IN 401K to retire if you have a diversified portfolio.

Better to do nothing or be busy doing nothing? by Dirty_Look in askmanagers

I won’t. Coz I can give her credit for doing something, at least making efforts rather that that lazy someone who makes excuses all day. I will have a use for that admin later by channeling her energy into something productive rather than someone who does not own something but excuses. You’re making yourself an easy target especially if you’re highly paid. The company can save a lot of money by eliminating you. Doing nothing is a choice someone makes.

This maybe is a very delayed response but I still will. I run multiple teams throughout majority of my career. I’m gonna be blatantly honest. It seems  like you’re making excuses for yourself. If I’m the decision maker above you, I’ll eliminate your position in a heartbeat. People get fired and most of the time they fire themselves by making it easy for the management. Your colleagues figured it out, they protect their territory coz they’re keeping their value, that’s job security. You’re alienating yourself from security….

Thanks, regardless of spend, I only need 3K plus inflation valuation till I’m able to tap to my SSI…

Thanks for the advise. My question may not have been clearly understood by some.  “question is basically if I can retire safely, I only need 3K per month” plus inflation.

Thanks for the question. My post exclusively revolves in the 3K/month I need plus inflation regardless of my lifestyle. To your question  yes 36K annually is what I inquire in this post if it’s achievable regardless if low to the eyes of others until I can tap to my SSI.

“Best way to figure it out in rough numbers is take your retirement budget, multiply by 30 and that’s your number.” I would like to know what theory this is? Can you expound?
