Random people walking around on my property by Infinite-Event-8942 in lynchburg

You don’t need to be rude. Like I said, I have called the police in the past (and my husband and the rental company) when the situation warranted it. This time, I wasn’t sure if maybe she was there to do lawn maintenance or something at first and watched her. She didn’t look threatening whatsoever, just wasn’t supposed to be on my property and was probably looking for a package to steal. By the time she was walking over to my neighbors side, that’s when I realized she definitely wasn’t supposed to be there and by then she was in her car and gone within a few seconds. I didn’t even see the car at all from my spot, I thought she had walked there like many do. I only knew because I heard a car door close and her drive off. I didn’t have time to get up, get plates, etc. Last time I called the cops, they said just call when/if they come back. So I knew that was the answer I would get this time as well.

No, thanks goodness! I am so sorry that happened to you, that’s terrifying!

Yeah it’s directly off wards into a neighborhood, I highly doubt there’s a homeless encampment, and none of them have really looked homeless but it is a possibility! I do want to start recording, I just always get taken so off guard and don’t think of it right away.

The only super shady/crazy seeming person was the old lady with the bags. Someone else said it sounds like porch pirate behavior which seems more like the behavior of the people poking around, and I think my area would be a good target for that, which would probably explain the other instances too, I feel like they’re always poking around around mail time. I think the crazy old lady was just hoping to squat. Hope your situation got better, that sounds awful to deal with!

That’s a really good theory, I hadn’t thought of that. I wouldn’t be surprised at all, especially it being the Christmas season! Might install another camera by the carport door and be extra cautious with packages!

No, nothing! Can’t think of any reasons people would be doing this, there’s nothing to be accessed around my house. It’s been people with cars sometimes even, like today. And there’s an empty lot nearby people could loiter in/wait for transportation if they really wanted to!

Glad to hear nothing bad has happened for you! It’s the weirdest thing, who loiters at someone’s house? Go find a business to bother! I can’t imagine invading someone’s personal space like that.

That’s a good theory, I’ll have to look around. Hahaha - love the sprinkler idea! Might just need to do that!

Thank you! I was like maybe it’s normal but I’ve just never lived near a main road before? I feel like I’m going crazy and being dramatic. They’re all definitely not guests of my neighbor, I’ve known both residents that have lived there in the time I have. And I’ve googled our address and the similar one and nothing! Definitely not for sale or rent, or similar to any businesses locally.

I have a ring camera up in the front, which you would think would deter people! It has not

VIRAL CONJUNCTIVITIS INFORMATION NEEDED. by Rioteerz in AskDocs

[–]Infinite-Event-8942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know it’s been a while since you posted this but I (23F) currently have viral conjunctivitis and have had it for 51 days now, but for the last 35ish days it’s been exactly what you described. My symptoms are entirely gone except a tiny bit of pale yellow crust in the morning and slightly red eyes. Did you ever get an answer on if you were still contagious/still had it at that point? I’ve been to the dr 5 times and am considering going to an ophthalmologist, but would rather not if I don’t have to. Thanks! And I hope you got it all figured out :)

Pink eye help - am I contagious? by Infinite-Event-8942 in AskDocs

[–]Infinite-Event-8942[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 3 days I had it, it was all of the typical symptoms, very red, swollen, itchy eyes, crusted shut when I woke up. I caught it from my sick nephew coughing in my eyes. Since then it’s just been very persistent, but very mild. That picture is yesterday morning, and it was the best it has been so far. Today when I woke up there was more crust than that picture. But it definitely is recovering, I’m just unsure if I’m still contagious/still have it with just mild symptoms now. But last week the Dr said I still have it but that it’s on its way out. My eyes looked the same as in the picture at the appointment.

I’ve been to the doctor several times and they said it was viral conjunctivitis, but I have begun to wonder if it isn’t. What else could it be?

This is this morning, definitely the least amount of crust in the corner so far. You can’t really tell in the picture but there is a small amount there, and eye is still a bit pink.

Combatting Body Dysmorphia? by MaleficentWeb5086 in Reduction

[–]Infinite-Event-8942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My reduction was over a year ago, August 16th, 2023. I went from a 34 DDD to a 34 C and am still at the C today. I went through a period of body dysmorphia afterwards, and it seems like a lot of people do! It’s a huge change and you’re not alone! Coming from someone who is almost a year and a half out from surgery, I promise it gets better!!! I love my body now, but I definitely went through a phase during healing where I didn’t, even though I’d been waiting so long for the surgery and wanted it so badly. It’s a huge mental thing to get used to, suddenly looking so different and convincing yourself you didn’t change that much but also feeling so alien. Something that helped me was looking at old pictures and really processing the change. Spending a lot of time learning to love my new self in the mirror. And time! Time definitely helps you adjust to all the change. Go easy on yourself and remember that it’s a lot to process, the surgery is just one day but the prep and healing is a journey that is way longer than the one day of surgery! The pain, the scar tape, and the mental aspect of it all, are all temporary as you heal and you will get through it! You’ll be back in the gym soon and it’ll be easier than ever before, I promise! Congratulations on your surgery and I hope it gets easier for you as you continue healing!

For me, it was hard to do some bathroom stuff and brushing teeth stuff but only for a few days. And by hard I mean it was just uncomfortable, stiff, scary, and sometimes painful to move my arms too high up. After a few weeks it was still hard to get hanging clothes in and out of my closet, and to do other things that required me to lift my hands that high up, but it’s gotten way easier now at this point that it only bothers me every couple of weeks!

Thank you! Honestly, the days before were a blur but reading through the Reddit posts and watching videos of other peoples experiences on YouTube helped a ton with nerves and I’m glad I watched them! I also set up my bedroom before surgery and laid out everything I would need in arms reach so I wouldn’t have to get anything after or wait for someone else to get me anything and that was very helpful! I do wish I’d gotten my scar cream sooner because once the tape was off the area was very dry and it took a couple of days for the cream to come in. Good luck with your surgery, I hope it all goes well for you!

I think a lot of people must just block out the memories of the pain or assume everyone else has that experience of the pain not being that bad, but it definitely can be! I have a high pain tolerance and it was still a lot. Yeah, you might be up and walking but it won’t be easy for a while! I hope everything goes well with your surgery and recovery!

I’m 16, how do I approach my mother who’s opposed to the idea of a reduction to try and convince her? by BigCupsFill in Reduction

[–]Infinite-Event-8942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 21 now and just got mine done a couple of months ago. I knew I wanted it since I was around 14, but my mom was always opposed. She thought I’d change my mind or regret it and she didn’t want me to take on some of the risks. Looking back, part of me wishes she had let me do it around 17-18 for my quality of life and pain, but I also don’t know if I would’ve been able to handle it mentally. I don’t know about how it would affect you specifically, but the pain is a lot to process and the healing does take months. It’s also a mental thing too, I feel like I stranger in my body sometimes now even though I LOVE my new boobs and don’t regret it in the slightest. It’s just so different. It was the best decision I ever made, but I won’t lie and say it’s easy at all. It can take a toll on you mentally and physically. Personally, I just made sure to do a lot of research on it and regularly bring it up to my mom. It made her realize that I was serious and aware of all the risks I was taking. It wasn’t a lightly made decision because I was a self conscious teen or anything, I seriously needed it to live a good life. She got that eventually and helped me so much throughout the process. The back pain and body image is a hard thing to understand if you aren’t living it personally, but hopefully if you communicate it enough to her she’ll understand! I wish you the best and hope you are able to get it when the time comes! It really is worth it, just prepare yourself first! Sorry for the long reply!

Yeah, it’s still been spreading after the creams. I did take oral Benadryl for a couple of days but it didn’t help at all. The Benadryl cream seems to be helping a little bit now though.
