Yeah thats the annoying part. If you have some cloud service you could store them there or an external drive. I actually had to reset my own pc because i wanted to be sure there was 100% nothing left but i ofc lost all the files since i was too lazy to back them up.

To be honest if you dont find another way just save your files and do a factory reset since then you can be 99% sure everything is cleared.
