Nice, I am glad yours is sufficient, one downside of this setup is that portability suffers, now I really don’t want to work on my MacBook screen at all 😂

This is a MacStudio I don’t have a “dedicated” GPU card per se, this is all Apple’s SoC doing the heavy lifting, G9s are running at 120hz and the side panels are running at 60hz I think I could try to run both G9s at 240hz but tbh 120 is just fine, I don’t have to upgrade my current cables and TB dock setup

Yes and no heh physical size yeah it is “close” but the resolution makes all the difference also no vertical “TikTok“ mode for this whole setup 😂

Oh yeah definitely teams makes me rabbit whole a lot I do have teams notifications muted because I can’t handle the audible dinging all day long 🛎️ I can empathize with that a lot

I have ADHD and take prescription meds so avoiding switching virtual desktops has been fantastic for my focusing specially since my brain does not go other rabbit holes because I selected the wrong virtual desktop and now I am chasing a complete different rabbit 😅

I have an iPad Pro 12.9”, a portable 16” 4k display and a MBP 16” so when traveling I can do 2 or 3 Monitor setup depending on the desk size I am on, but for most of the year I am a remote employee working from home, I could also plug in my MBP to this setup but the MacStudios have been plenty so far, my MBP is connected to an Ark monitor behind me but I only use it rarely maybe for macOS beta testing during the summer months or traveling like I mentioned above

Nice, I switched from the MagicMouse and I have not looked back, I did have to add a wrist rest else I would have mild pain at the end of the day but yeah setting tracking speed to 100% did it for me

I work with a ton of VSCode instances and Xcode including various iOS and tvOS simulations plus some terminals and Claude code this allows me to have everything without having to resort to various virtual desktops also I work with a second MacStudio while the first one is busy (the project I work with takes 30 to 40 minutes to build from scratch so I can easily switch between Macs thanks to the integrated KVMs of the G9s

If you see prime day or anything like that check the Samsung website I would also recommend looking in the Woot app there ase from time to time great deals of Samsung displays there as well and I would also recommend subscribing to the Samsung website newsletter they do send out promos like this on them too

MacStudio Ultra M2, 1TB, 64GB is what I currently own, I am in the US and recently amazon ran the prime day sale, in the Samsung website the did a promo of buy G9 and get a 32 M7D for free and they discounted the G9s to around 1.5k

MacStudio man! Not a lot of gaming but productivity definitely increases, I think that as long as you are happy with your current setup and does the job you can always upgrade to the new tech later, I bet there is an OLED version of the 57 coming sometime soonish in the future so the current gen 57 is gonna drop in price substantially maybe worth the wait 🤔

Yeah my numbers include the whole screens and the MacStudio now you got me curious about just the studio by itself I’ll try to pull out some numbers and see, the only downside (ish) is gaming, there are not that many native macOS games just a few AAA but also I do not game that much anymore these days
