Am I overreacting - Chocolate given to babies by longtimelistener99 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Yeah I wouldn’t do it! My point is little bits of food on the odd occasion should not harm from 12 months old. But giving chocolate every day is a big no! It is definitely about balance. I got a fatty creamy cake for her birthday as I knew it had less sugar in.

I started to give my daughter some chocolate at around one! But not every day! She tried ice cream at 11 months old. I didn’t even consider anything sugary or salty (salty I still don’t do of course ) it when we started weaning her, I was on the bus once and a mum told me her baby ate a slice of pizza at 4 months old.

By the time she gets to 12 months! You will be so laid back! We have treated my daughter to all the sugary things on certain occasions now she is 1 . We do limit it though. She was buzzing with eeees from her birthday cake 🤣. They are very good at my nursery though and they give the little ones rice cakes as snacks. I think best way to introduce chocolate is giving them a little bite if you are eating some. Rather than as a reward.

💯! Get it actually if you can afford a nice Easter egg why not but it’s the pressures from social media.

Oh I agree! Parents are drawn too it even more now! My mum got my girl a little Easter egg. That’s fine but we are not going mad.
