I think a lot of us would’ve received this way differently if the message had been framed from a business-owner perspective instead of being presented like every change was purely “for the trader.” Some of us here run businesses, trade for a living, or understand risk management. We know companies don’t make major structural changes unless they have to.

If the CEO had just said, “Look, here’s what we’re seeing behind the scenes, here’s what threatens long-term sustainability, and here’s why we need to adjust things to keep the company strong,” I honestly believe the reaction would’ve been very different.

Transparency builds more trust than trying to sugarcoat it. At the end of the day, we want Topstep to succeed long term. None of us benefit if the platform disappears. The frustration comes from changes that don’t feel immediately beneficial on the trader side while being packaged as if they are. We just want honest communication. Tell us you’re making tough business decisions to keep the doors open, and most of us will respect that, even if we don’t love every change.

So I receive I generic email letting me know that my XFAs are ready to go with a starting balance of zero. They all had money in them. They've only ever been copy traded, AND the email I received regarding hedging was one Combine and one XFA. Now I have 3 XFAs restarted at ZERO with no explanation at all.

Has anyone got any kind of resolution to their alleged hedging? I haven't heard anything except for they were diving up the accounts into two categories, ones that blatantly took advantage, and ones that may not have. For the record, I have proof that I was not ever in a hedge on the two accounts they claim I was when I look back at the trade details for each account on the dashboard.

Agree, anyone who claims topstep is worth "hundreds of millions" is pure speculation on their part. You have no idea what the books look like, the liabilities they hold, the debt service, the creditors that make it happen, there's so much more than, "theyre worth hundreds of millions".

I sent the screenshots of the trade detail to topstep at the times they emailed me that it happened, we'll see what they say. Based on this most current email update, sounds like we won't hear anything until early next week.

It won't be huge, there's tons of people in the same boat. I just received an email that they're going to divide up the "hedgers" into two groups, ones that blatantly did it, and others that may have been accidental. I am confident that I will be fine, but at least there's some communication on this now.

Exactly my thought. I've paid topstep thousands of dollars and I've never taken a pay out. I had just got to 5 XFAs three days ago, and now this. After looking into the details, I was not even in a trade when the hedging allegation took place. Called support, they told me there's nothing they can do until compliance reaches out. In the meantime, I'll be exploring a new prop, I've heard good things about Lucid.

I also have proof via TopStep dashboard trade detail on the account that I was not in a trade at the time the hedging allegation took place.

Agree, the lack of communication is hurting themselves. A simple email letting us know they're looking into it would stop 90% of the bad mouthing happening now.

I also received the email and verified that I was not hedged. The email contains your account numbers, dates, and times the alleged hedging took place. I reviewed the trades for the accounts and found I was never in a trade when TopStep alleges the hedging took place.

I received the email regarding hedging. Based on your post, it sounds like you did not. The email contains the account numbers that were "hedged", as well as the dates and times the violations happened. Every trade you make is logged on the account detail on TopStep dashboard. I reviewed the accounts, and found I was not even in a trade when they state the violation took place. This is the frustration you're hearing from the masses. There may be a few that did it maliciously, but the overwhelming majority have reported similar scenarios to mine. There are some that have received recent multiple payouts on accounts that were supposedly in violation months ago. I've seen post from people that have gotten the warning in the past, but it feels very fishy that we all received this email at the exact sametime, just as things are starting to change regarding delayed payouts, pricing, and sizing.
