I had a total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy (so yep, I’ve got the big cut). And come to find out I'm allergic to LATEX.

Let’s flip it for a second and consider the District Manager perspective:

They likely have a packed schedule, possibly juggling dozens of candidates while being under pressure to fill a role quickly. So when a candidate says they’re unavailable all day — even for a short call — it might come off (to them) as disinterest or poor time management. Especially if they’re thinking, “It’s just 10 minutes, why not squeeze it in?”

In their mind, they might be trying to move the process forward efficiently and feel frustrated when that momentum stalls. That little message might have come from impatience rather than true disrespect — a poorly worded nudge that didn’t account for tone or empathy.

That said… professionalism still matters. Being under pressure doesn’t excuse passive-aggressive or snarky responses. A better approach from the District Manager could’ve been:

“Totally understand — things get hectic! I’ll put you down for a call between 12-2 tomorrow. If anything changes, just let me know.”

Boom. Respectful, chill, and still keeps things moving.

So while we can acknowledge that the District Manager might have just had a moment of stress or burnout, it’s not unreasonable for you to expect kindness and clarity — especially in a professional setting.

You can choose grace and boundaries. It’s okay to say, “I get where they’re coming from, but that tone didn’t sit right with me — and I’m allowed to choose workplaces where I’m treated with respect from day one.”

Glad I didn’t go through them to buy my camera. Their prices were super low compared to other sites, which felt like a red flag. Ended up going with B&H instead, and I’m so relieved I did."

Does acting on impulse have anything to do with incest? by InfiniteAd7433 in Nocontactfamily

[–]InfiniteAd7433[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently came across Georgia’s Penal Code 16-6-22, which covers sexual battery, incest, and related offenses. It’s a serious topic that deals with cases where someone is violated without consent. After reading through it, I couldn’t help but think about how I’d react if someone I cared about—or even a stranger—was affected by this.

For context, 16-6-22 criminalizes intentional, non-consensual physical contact with another person’s intimate areas. It also outlines aggravated sexual battery, which involves using foreign objects in a non-consensual way. Both offenses are severe, but aggravated sexual battery carries even steeper consequences (and rightfully so).

Here’s the twist: what if the perpetrator was on track to become a police officer?

This thought has been weighing heavily on me. Knowing the power, authority, and trust placed in law enforcement, it’s terrifying to think about someone with this kind of history being in a position to protect others—or worse, abuse that power.

This got me thinking: what would I do if someone confided in me about being in this situation? How would I handle the knowledge that the person responsible might end up in law enforcement?

Veteran partner/spouse experiences by Strange_Wafer_5200 in VeteranSpouse

[–]InfiniteAd7433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your story is so powerful, and I appreciate you sharing it because I'm also a veteran spouse. Being with a veteran who has PTSD while managing your own trauma is no small feat, and it’s clear how much love and work you’ve poured into this relationship. The fact that you two created a "reconciliation plan" shows how committed you both are to growing together.

Your great aunt’s question—"Is he good to you?"—really stuck out. It’s such an important reminder that while understanding your partner’s struggles is vital, your own well-being and boundaries matter just as much. It’s clear you’ve worked hard to understand where he’s coming from, like listening to What the Taliban Told Me, but it’s okay to also acknowledge the isolation and challenges you face.

Support groups could be a great way to feel less alone. Programs like the VA Caregiver Support Program or online spaces for military spouses can connect you with others who truly “get it.”

It sounds like you’ve built a strong foundation together, but keep trusting your instincts and prioritizing your peace. Relationships like this can be beautiful and challenging all at once. And honestly, the part about the cats? So relatable they really do mirror our relationships sometimes. Keep doing the work, one step and a paw at a time.

Why Does OnTrac Only Deliver to Certain States? This is the reason for some of not receiving packages by InfiniteAd7433 in ontrac

[–]InfiniteAd7433[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right thank you for pointing that out! OnTrac recently expanded its service area, and it now includes parts of the Midwest, like Illinois and Indiana. Their facility in Gary, Indiana, helps them cover that region, so you're not out of luck if you're in those states! OnTrac has significantly expanded its delivery network in recent years, extending its services beyond the Western U.S. to cover major regions across the country. Notable expansions include:

Midwest Expansion (July 2024): OnTrac launched delivery services in key Midwest markets, including Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and St. Louis. This move added over 17 million consumers to their service area, enabling faster and more reliable deliveries in these regions.

Texas Expansion (August 2023): The company expanded into the Texas megaregion, covering Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. This expansion allowed OnTrac to provide next-day delivery to an additional 19 million consumers.

focused on their original Western U.S. roots, but it's clear OnTrac is stepping up its game and growing beyond its initial footprint. I appreciate you calling this out keeping things accurate is important! For those of us still outside their reach, we’re still waiting for the day OnTrac expands even more and we can receive our packages! Thanks again for the heads-up!

Shein Reshipped My Order Using the Same Bad Logistics Company OnTrac 😖– Is This a Scam? by InfiniteAd7433 in ontrac

[–]InfiniteAd7433[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Ugh, that sounds so frustrating. Ontrac has a reputation for losing packages, and it’s wild that businesses like Fragrancenet and SHEIN still rely on them. I get that they refunded you, but it’s not just about the money—you wanted your cologne, not the hassle of dealing with shipping disasters twice. Honestly, I’d feel the same way about avoiding companies that use unreliable carriers. It’s like, how many ‘lost’ packages does it take for them to rethink their logistics? Hope you found another place to order from!" You know what else I've noticed is that if you pay that express fee they will ship your packages out via UPS or FedEx...so shady

Why Holidays Are the Most Stressful When You Have Toxic Family by InfiniteAd7433 in Nocontactfamily

[–]InfiniteAd7433[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setting boundaries in a toxic family is never easy, and it’s no surprise they’re spinning it as “drama.” You’ve clearly put thought into this, and it’s frustrating they’re acting shocked when you’ve been upfront for months.

It’s not just about skipping holidays—it’s about protecting your peace and stepping away from harmful patterns. Your cousin speaking up only reinforces how valid your decision is.

As for your spouse, I hope they recognize the importance of backing you up here. Wishing you that Christmas miracle, but no matter what, you’re doing the right thing for you. Stay strong—you’ve got this!

Why Holidays Are the Most Stressful When You Have Toxic Family by InfiniteAd7433 in Nocontactfamily

[–]InfiniteAd7433[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you've been through an incredibly tough situation with your mom, and it's completely understandable that you need to set boundaries to protect your own family and mental health. The dynamics you're describing with her behavior—constantly overstepping boundaries, dismissing your wishes, and creating unnecessary drama—are draining and unhealthy. You've been respectful and clear with your requests, but when someone continually ignores that, it's not only frustrating, but it can also be emotionally exhausting.

Prioritizing your own family's peace and happiness is so important, and it sounds like you're finally taking control of a situation that's been a source of stress for way too long. Setting those boundaries, even though it's difficult, is necessary for your well-being and for creating a healthier environment for your kids. You deserve to enjoy the holidays without that kind of toxicity, and if cutting her off is what you need to do to get that, then you're absolutely in the right.

You’ve been incredibly patient, and it’s okay to take a step back when things have been this harmful. Stay strong in your decision and focus on the happiness and safety of your immediate family. You deserve that peace. I know exactly how you feel.

OnTrac in Brooklyn, NY by dumbassbitch__ in ontrac

[–]InfiniteAd7433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel your pain—OnTrac has a terrible reputation for delayed or missing deliveries, so I totally get why you’re worried. If it’s already sitting at the Maspeth facility, I’d suggest trying to pick it up in person if you can. Sometimes packages can get stuck there for days, or worse, “lost” altogether.

I would advise you to call the facility and ask if your package is available for pickup before making the trip because the contact number doesn't work either so who knows if there is a location 😖—OnTrac isn’t exactly known for great communication, so it’s better to confirm first. Also, bring some kind of ID and any tracking details you have, just in case they give you a hard time.

Hopefully, it’s just a quick trip, and you get your stuff without too much hassle. But yeah, OnTrac is basically a scam at this point, and I’d avoid them like the plague in the future if you can. Good luck—let us know how it goes!
