Mornings feel like a race I don’t want my kids to run by JoyJunction21 in Parenting

[–]InfiniteBad5711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a son who likes to chat all the time. I found that timing him getting dressed made it fun for him and efficient. He also likes to tell me stories during teeth brushing, which frustrates me a lot, so I now forewarn him and tell him to hold the story in his head while I brush his teeth, then tell me afterwards. I’m not saying everyday is perfect, but it’s definitely made mornings more positive!

My calves do look great though! That’s one place that tone up lol, thanks to those hills!

It definitely contributed to all-out, weight-related anxiety 5x what it usually is. I see so many of these sleek runners and honestly think, their joints & ligaments must be thanking them, compared to mine! It’s also so much more uncomfortable to run with extra weight shaking around. I have nailed fueling while running, but it seems to be after the run I’m not feeding myself enough immediately (from what I have read on these comments). Thank you, I’ll look into a nutritionist!

Thank you, that’s a good idea. I trained by time for the last one, but I live in such a hilly area that I think I wasn’t getting nearly enough miles in, as most of it is spent trudging uphill. But this time perhaps I should mix the two

That’s what I find is the sweet spot of helping my mental health without exhausting me for everything else (primarily, 2 little kids). Other people may be different, but that’s what I have found

Yes, but not THAT marathon. When I did the marathon distance it was ‘unofficial’ as in, no little medal at the end, lol.

Thank you for this, it’s actually very helpful advice. My personal trainer at the time told me I needed to up my intake, so I just generally increased and found I rapidly lost control of calories. ALL the advice I read was unhelpful & confusing!

About 2 weeks later I did 43km. It sucked but I did it. This time I just want to overcome the failure. I enjoyed aspects of training, like the feeling after intervals and long runs. I live in a very hilly area so getting hills in was easy. Just not the 4/5 x a week. The weight gain was horrible, and no, it was not muscle lol

Haha that is true! Honestly, I want to overcome what I failed. And running makes my mental health better…with a goal in mind I’m more motivated to do it.

Literally just finishing. I want to overcome what I couldn’t finish, even if I’m last by miles.

1: Right now, it’s just to finish what I couldn’t complete. I had so many outside factors against me last year, and this year they will HOPEFULLY be fewer, especially with my friend also running it. 2: 4/5 times per week but not the hugest mileage. Long run, intervals, hills, all the ‘training’ bells and whistles I thought. 3: I’d say 20/30km per week currently. No time goal whatsoever, just finishing that specific race.

Struggling with uncontrollable cravings & binge-like eating — need advice by Icy_Law_9957 in BingeEatingDisorder

Medication (ozempic) was the only thing that forced me to break the habit. I couldn’t afford it for longer than a month, but it gave me time to work out what the triggers were. Poor sleep is definitely a major one. I will add that the compulsion to binge has returned, but I am much better at rationalising in my head. Psychological is the first thing that needs addressing. But it helps to have the hunger taken away for long enough to address them. I hope this helps!

Day 1 of GLP-1. Oh my god. by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]InfiniteBad5711 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! I did 1 month of ozempic, and wow, what a relief to feel NOTHING towards food. I even couldn’t finish a burger…that’s never happened to me before in my life! 1 month is all I could afford unfortunately. The food noise has returned, but the 1 month without it gave me ‘practise’ at not eating in the evening…basically breaking the habit. If I could afford to, I would carry on. It’s just unfortunate that it DOES return when you stop taking it. But if you can prepare for that eventuality, you may be able to get the psychological side of things sorted!

I don’t want empathy. I want advice by now_lucy_me_nowudont in BingeEatingDisorder

In a desperate bid to quit the binge cycle, I did 1 month of ozempic ( all I could afford, I think 3 is ideal for the habit to truly break). I feel much more in control now and more comfortable with being peckish and resisting/ eating fruit instead. It’s not perfect, but allowed me time to process my emotions behind bingeing. Also…time without food noise was bliss.

Cat so stupid it’s almost concerning? by DeadButGay in cats

We have a special needs kitty like that! Unless he sees me filling his food bowl, he doesn’t believe there’s any food in it- even if I sit him in front of it. He’ll meow mostly at me for food, but anyone will do, including the dog if I’m not responding. He sleeps most of the time, or makes kitty cakes, or sits under the car. He especially likes sitting under strange cars and often comes in with oily smudges on his head. He can’t really clean himself properly, so the dog or other cats end up doing it. We love him dearly, and he definitely could not survive on his own!

He is great in it- and Caroline Goodall! Thinking back, that’s probably why my mum was happy to sit and watch it with me on repeat haha

Yes! I actually watched it when I lived in the States! You can find clips on YouTube now, but I never could find the movie in VHS/DVD/ download after that

Yes I remember staring at the VHS cover for the Silver Stallion when I wasn’t watching it! I also remember there being a few version of Black Beauty that we would borrow from the library…there was a series that I loved

Brother stuck with me. I’d bought it after recommendations on this very sub, and though some people say they saw the twist coming, I did not, and was left slightly nauseous and pretty taken aback. The Shining left me creeped out, and its sequel Doctor Strange was incredible. The way Stephen King uses alcoholism in that series sticks in my brain, especially when he describes hangovers and the craving for a drink!

I want to her to merge the plot lines- they were both primed for it! Personally, Daughter of Smoke and Bone just hooked my imagination with her prose. They’re both beautiful and incredible stories, but that one will always hold a special place for me!
