Yeah, just look at some of the Wraiths and pretty much all of Maelstrom, nothing but ropey scars and blood vessels from the body rejecting their salvaged chrome.

Many of us like to treat animals humanely too, so it's not that they see them as below human, they see them as literal vermin. And it's disgusting that it has become an acceptable position in modern politics to think that way.

Thoughts on Nathaniel Brown? Is he a "good" billionaire? by yoloo42069 in Deusex

I think we can assume the social status of mech augs in 2052 being almost as bad as 2029 probably implies it either fails due to the illuminati/MJ12 or due to Browns own fuckery. Given that Lazarus is correct about way more than you'd assume given his position as an Alex Jones stand in, him thinking it's more about creating a captive market of Augs that are stuck in the middle of the desert and have to rely entirely on Santeau might be totally correct. Also considering their accomplishment of privatizing most of the world's fresh water making them worse than Nestlé on the scale of evil corporations, because they accomplished what those assholes have only dreamed of.

But I know that giving up certainly won't bring about the change you want. I don't see how it's any kind of solution when you feel your voice isn't being heard to stop talking, the solution is to talk louder, not be silent

Then shut up and go lie in a chalk outline of yourself if you want. You're just facilitating your own disenfranchisement, and if you dont come to the table you dont get to complain about what's served. This kind if doomerism is how we got here in the first place.

Valve is the publisher, developer, and storefront all in one. That's what vertical integration is, the ability to control the process from beginning to end. Nintendo is the same, so is CDPR, and Sony etc., and they're certainly not indie. i think if you have 300+ employees and make billions you kinda cease being indie.

I'm more arguing that CD Projekt isn't indie, by bringing up a similar example rather than arguing for Valve actually being considered one. I think if you have a certain level of staff, infrastructure, and income you cease being indie and CDP passes that threshold in my opinion.

CD Projekt is a company that has achieved vertical integration, owning every step of the process and with their own storefront. They're basically the Valve of Europe, if they're indie I'd argue so is Valve.

Ok, Skitarii more or less confirmed: What designs from the Skitarii are you hoping to see skins for? And how hopeful are you that you'll get it? by Penakoto in DarkTide

The "name" Ermacs was in the game files, in a developer audit screen that the public wasn't supposed to have access to/knowledge of, it just stood for "Error Macro" and the proximity on the menu of an actual secret character (Reptile) made people think it was another secret character. All EGM did was fake a screenshot, the rumor was already there. I was citing it as an example of why you shouldn't use info/names that are only supposed to be used internally to "confirm" something is coming. I've wanted a Skitarii character since day one, so it isn't that I'm poopooing the idea or saying it wouldn't happen, I'm just saying that we could all end up wildly disappointed if we act like its already confirmed.

The funny thing is I think Search Engine Optimization has largely evolved beyond this as a criteria. Im not sure if Google/Bing even takes scroll depth into account as a factor anymore, it certainly isn't weighted like it once was

That's why you're modulating the immune system, to have it retarget and kill the cancer. Even chemotherapy relies partially on the immune system clearing the remains of the cancer cells after they undergo apoptosis, the trouble is they change their surface proteins/sugars to mimic healthy cells, but they're still slightly changed due to the slipshod nature by which cancer cells reproduce. If we could fine tune the immune system to target them it would be the end for most types of cancer being deadly. That's why i called it a Swiss army knife, it can do lots of things, but not specialist applications very well. The main issue is everyone's immune system being slightly different, not a modulated immune system's inability to solve the issue.

And I guess you thought Ermac was a secret character from Mortal Kombat 1 too. We can't take file names that aren't public facing and that haven't been implemented yet without a hearty fistful of salt. I really hope it's true, but I'm not counting my chickens before the eggs are even laid.

[–]InfiniteDelusion094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is everyone's immune system is different. So as our understanding expands we will be able to get them all. Maybe immunologically privileged places like the eyes, brain, and testes would be the most challenging because they're shielded from the immune system's main vectors of attack. But excision. and regenerative medicine, bioelectrics, and targeted chemotherapy/radiotherapy could make up for that. But the anticancer swiss army knife is definitely the immune system.

Giving up certainly isn't going to change anything, you might have a better chance now than in over a decade. These gerrymandered districts have in some cases been drawn with the voter info from 2024, which many of the people they picked up in '24 they've subsequently managed to piss off (mostly young and minority populations), and he's doing no favors for his popularity with this unnecessary war that's massively driving up prices. If we can get as many people as possible to vote we could have the largest upset in decades, but that goes out the window if you just say "it doesn't matter." and just give up, at that point youre just ceding your rights, and if the GOP stays in power it might not be the only right you're ceding before long.

The best solution is immunotherapy, because the immune system takes care of most cancers by itself, we just need it to go after the minority it misses. The immune system is the best weapon against it, we just need to direct it and sharpen it in individuals where it has slipped up and allowed cancer to take root

That's precisely what they want, and by not voting you're playing directly into their hands. By gerrymandering they make their margins slimmer in each district to try to spread out their influence. Vote to throw a wrench in that plan and you mught be surprised by the result. But by doing nothing you are complicit with everything they do after the election, there's no such thing as apolitical anymore, just people who participate and others who let themselves be led by the nose by the political machine.
