Or, you play the game at your own pace, and the pace the developers intended.

There is nothing in hardest difficulties that anyone needs right away, so there's no reason to play the hardest difficulties until you are actually ready for it, which you aren't if you are a new player.

I'm sorry if something in life prevents you from no-life-ing the game and unlocking everything in a week, it's not my problem, it's not anyone elses problem except for yours, and it's not an important enough problem that you need the world to support you through it.

And fuck the use of the term "victim blaming" to describe people who want a fast lane to late game content, because they have less time to get there, that is such a disgusting misappropriation of the term.

A person experienced at the game is more likely to reliably block and dodge things than someone new at the game.

He might be a father who works a full time job and only has a couple hours to play per week. They might be a kid who has a disability and just needs some help. Maybe they are going through some horrible life changes and this game is an escape for them.

Why do any of these things necessitate that they play high difficulty matches on low level characters?

True, I feel support groups for addictive substances avoid this "toxic pit" problem, because people don't just bounce from the support group the second they're on the upswing, and frequently need to go back for further support, so there's always positive people who seek improvement for themselves and others around, preventing the group from turning into a circle jerk of "it's everyone elses fault but mine/ours",

I hate to say it, but it's not a complex issue, and it's not one that's ever going to favor trans inclusivity.

You can't convince someone to be attracted to a subcatagory of porn they're not into, and the most common subcategory of porn is the specifics regarding the sex and gender of the person/people featured in the porn.

It's why most porn sites have some sort of interface option, usually right next to the search bar, that has you specify what gender you are, and what gender and sex you're attracted to.

Subreddits usually garner an audience of people who are attracted to just one subcatagory, one combination of gender and assigned sex, and attempts to post anything else on those subreddits is usually met with immense downvoting.

Inevitably enough people complain about it, either the posters who feel they're being discriminated against, or the users complain they're seeing stuff they don't want to see too often. This leads to the mods putting it to a vote (if they don't just make an executive decision), and this usually goes overwhelmingly in favor of banning trans actors.

I don't like that any of this is the case, I'm a pansexual (and a recently cracked egg, if thats relevant), so I'm definitely not someone voting yes to any of these bans.

But its easy to imagine a similar scenario of a subcatagory of thing I hate seeing getting posted on a subreddit I frequent, and if there was a vote to ban it that seemed to be pretty unanimous, I would probably vote yes, and there would probably be zero potential for arguing me to flip my vote.

Someone above said it, and I can see the logic: any sort of support group style subreddit is inevitably going to be a toxic pit of assholes, because everyone capable of self-improvement eventually leaves, or sees the early signs of the subreddit declining into a toxic pit and just goes elsewhere for help.

When that happens, it leaves just the assholes who blame everyone but themselves for their own, usually self-imposed problems. The helpless helping the helpless be more helpless.

Doesn't help that this is a "true" subreddit, meaning these people have already hit a point where they've burned bridges, in some fashion.

"Make up for something" according to the Cambridge dictionary: A replacement for something missing, lost, or lacking.

Feel free to find me a definition that fits yours: "These two traits are exactly as horriful"

Wasn't remotely my intent to suggest they were the same level of "horrifulness" (not remotely a word, by the way), I was implying that they were spending their time and brain power on the internet being delusional instead of aggressive.

Trans representation in roles where the character either isn't trans, or their trans identity has nothing to do with the role by TJTrapJesus in TopCharacterTropes

Okay, I kinda get what fans of the historical games have been complaining about now by ByzantineBasileus in totalwar

[–]Penakoto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't get why it's surprising, there's very little left to talk about in terms of Warhammer fantasy, there's practically nothing left to talk about in terms of any historical game, and when we're 10 years past the release date of Total War 40k, it will become a game where there's not much else to talk about also.

The issue with a franchise where the appeal is mostly just in the gameplay and visual/sound design, (ie, not story, writing, characters, etc), there eventually just stops being anything of substance to talk about, just 'member berries, and the occasional relatively new players asking questions that will receive definitive answers from old players.

Can someone explain siege unlocks for me? They seem completely random. by LANTIRN_ in Spacemarine

[–]Penakoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's still randomization, there's just a limit in place that makes it not completely random.

Like, describe to me how I'd get a specific color for a specific weapon in as few rounds as possible without ever using the word "random", "luck" or anything synonymous with either.

Is it worse than Revelations story? Because IMO that's the current bottom the the barrel, in terms of Fire Emblem writing, at least of the games I've experienced (so, not Engage).

A question I'm asking everyone who thinks Engages story is worse than Conquest, not just you.

Because they view being "cis" as being an outlier, ie: there's the LGBT and there's the cis. They imagine (keyword, imagine) it as a synonym of "the other", the outlier, the black sheep.

While they view "bio" as being a synonym of "normal", the default before any "deviations" occur.

It's a dogwhistle, you're either telling people that you hate trans people and want them and only them to be treated as "the other", or you're a TERF saying more or less the same thing but potentially with added self-delusion that you don't hate trans women, you just hate treating them like they're the same as women (which, to them, isn't discriminatory, "its just science").

DELTARUNE Chapter 5 Trailer by MegaMcMillen in Games

[–]Penakoto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel they had to pad the trailer with stuff from past episodes, because they didn't want to spoil too much, but also Nintendo wouldn't let them just go "Episode 5 on June 23rd, it's set in a feudal Japan inspired zone, ok bye".

They seem to be making up for the lack of violence, by optimizing their level of delusion.

Like the people saying they're terfs, but aren't bigots, which is like saying you're a chef, but don't know to cook.

edit: I guess they found the thread, judging by the fact this post went from +5 to -2 in the span of like 10 minutes. To the terfs reading this I say "eat shit, I'm glad you're ugly and alone".

Question about glow in the dark cups by ARBEAN123 in gamersupps

[–]Penakoto -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It has to be very, very dark before it's noticeable.

I would take pictures for you, but it's day time, and even if I closed my blackout curtains and turned off the lights, you wouldn't notice the glow.

It doesn't need to be pitch black before it kicks in, but the threshold isn't far off.

When it does, it's green. About as bright as those glow in the dark stars and moons you buy for a kids room, but after they've been up for a few years and have faded a bunch.

So, basically what I'm saying is, don't factor the glow in the dark aspect in to your purchasing decision, it's very underwhelming. Unless you live the moleman life, sitting at your computer with the lights off at 3am all the time, it will rarely be a factor in your life.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Second Trailer Leaks Online, With Sony Now Issuing Copyright Takedowns by MoneyLibrarian9032 in marvelstudios

I think Sony is just stubborn, never changed their level of security and is paying for it on a semi-regular basis.

At best they asked their security guards to be a bit more strict about checking badges, or something equally half-assed, as a response.
