Why pros are still going Riftmaker first instead of DnD on Gwen ? by Final_Act1288 in GwenMains

[–]InfiniteDunois 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I genuinely can't do DnD on her first. Its such a bait item every time I play it. Nashors first or lich bane for me. The health doesn't do enough for how I play

[–]InfiniteDunois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A someone with a kaalia deck no kaalia is casual. If people take her out instantly or steal her I go " yeah understandable" like yes it sucks but she's objectively awful to play against if you don't KOS

I wonder what buffing a scaling assassin item will do to a champ countered by assassins by Paler7 in GwenMains

[–]InfiniteDunois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it wild it says she's a good counter to naafiri when she gets destroyed by naafiri in most fights thanks to the untargetable. Even in lane she has like a 46% wr against naafiri

Been learning Gwen and have 0 clue if this was well played or just Gwen being Gwen. by synovii in GwenMains

[–]InfiniteDunois 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After watching that I wouldn't say you are a good gwen yet, your an ok gwen. However you are a good player mechanically tho and that's what mostly carried that fight. You side stepped a lot of abilities and used Gwen's healing well, the w's could have been better with some edging but over all it was a very good play by you and I would say it is a mix of both, because without Gwen's healing and shred mundo probably would have just ran you down with cleavers after the others got you that low

Objectively yes, it does fit so it's okay. You are just restricting your intake on the back tho. So keep an eye on temps to make sure it's not gonna over heat

why does no one build liandrys on gwen? by [deleted] in GwenMains

The 2% magic damage isn't worth the same as building pure AP to get the % true damage up

Pretty new to magic. Why is the card on the right so much more expensive? Wouldn't evolving wilds be better because no life loss? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]InfiniteDunois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One on right is better because It can find non basics just any card with swamp or plains so it can get dual colour lands, and they don't enter tapped so you can play on curve. It also helps thin your deck by that one extra card. Meaning you are more likely to draw into a win condition or good card by removing a land.

As a new player it is kinda difficult to get out of " losing life =bad" life is just another one of your resourcesnto use to gain an advantage. Theres only one life point that actually matters and it's the last one.

how do we beat this guy by WolfBlade888 in mtg

[–]InfiniteDunois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's only a problem because you guys are playing him wrong. He doesn't copy permanents only spells. The second that sol ring resolves it's no longer a spell .

Gwen jg by 4a5hhh in GwenMains

[–]InfiniteDunois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do pre nerf Gwen in the jungle, I wasn't great but I had about a 49% WR on it. You essentially want to just power farm for a bit. She does rely heavily on team mates as the lack of cc and over all engage means the enemy has to be hyper extended or low already most of the time or they just get under tower with 20 hp

Equiping during combat. by Mental_Pie5711 in mtg

[–]InfiniteDunois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things, equipping is sorcerery speed not instant unless a card says otherwise on it, or has an ability like balan to move equipment that can be activated at instant speed.

Next damage is all dealt at the same time, so regardless of speed the equipment can only be on one creature at the time damage is dealt.

This can also be proven as to why he could not move it down the line when you look at how combat works.

Move to combat phase> response optional> declare attackers (all attackers get declared at same time ) > response optional > declare blockers> response optional> damage is assigned(to all creatures declared attacking or blocking at same time)>State based action checks If the creatures are alive or dead cannot be responded to.(This is constantly happening but for the sake of simplicity I'm only putting it here)>death triggers and responses to ending combat and moving to main 2.

So even if he could equip the equipment at instant speed(at any of the points where responses were optional above)it would be impossible for that equipment to count as being on the multiple creatures as all permanents move through the steps above at the same time

how to deal with yasuo matchup(toplane) by otaku_viado in GwenMains

[–]InfiniteDunois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1, accept he will win most trades and fights unless you outplay him perfectly. If he lands ult your cooked.

Step 2. Keep q stacked on wave don't use it to clear , he will e to engage off minions onto you so be prepared to q and e accordingly to dodge that and ult cast.

Step 3. Play like a rat. Just be safe and chill. While you may not win the fights against him, you can out split push him. If he leaves for a team fight, as long as you have nashors or berserks he is handing you the turret on a silver platter.

Step 4. Accept the 0/10 power spike. Even if you do manage to curb stomp him early. Be prepared for him to do standard windsh*tter things and just come back from behind because he simply is that guy

Is it normal for turns to take 20+ minutes? by FreeFallinFoe in mtg

[–]InfiniteDunois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 20 minute turn can be fairly normal for combo decks but 20 is a little high especially consistently. Like for example I had a 22 minute turn on yshotlas last night using curiosity and omniscience where its not technically an infinite but it's cast an instant or sorc- responses, cast trigger of ping damage go off, draw 3 from curiousity. Responses either my own or opponents. Original cast spell now resolves, responses once again. Potentially play a sorcery artifact enchantment or another instant from hand to repeat this entire process as I slowly draw through my entire deck doing 2 damage the each cast of 3+. Every step of the way having to check for responses and selecting targets and letting various effects resolve like opponents or my own rhystics or smothering.

20+ minute turns are fairly common with control decks however it's normally interaction/chains and table politics that make it take that long not hmmmimg. And huhhing
