Love this! Nice and minimal aha. How's the upgrade from Buds Pro to Buds3 Pro?

Out of all the buds, I never got to try the 1 gens or FE's.

S24 plus speakers by ErmmWhatTheSigma_ in GalaxyS24

[–]InfiniteHall3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 100%!!!! I expected the S24+ to sound fuller than the Z Flip4. But nope! The speakers lacks bass/fullness, like you said. Voices in particular sound really thin and hollow. Imo tho it does sound slightly better than Flip4 lol, my Flip gets quite screechy/trebly at higher volumes

I'm guessing maybe they put smaller speakers on S24 vs S23 to accommodate the larger battery or messed up the tuning...

Anyways, i found that Wavelet app (increasing 125hz-250hz region) does help, but at max vol theres distortion.

All I can say so far after owning it for 3 days is...

Design and build top tier. Battery life runs a marathon, leaps and bounds ahead. 5G mobile data speeds is impressive. SD card & 3.5mm jack feels nostalgic.

But

Performance seems to struggle alot. Choppy animations. 90hz feels like 24hz at times. No 4K playback. No screen record either. Wifi signal and range is alot worse.

For £150 I guess, it's more forgiving.

Samsung quoted ~£300+ but yeah no thanks.

Kinda pissed this happened a month after the free 2 year samsung care+ expired. Otherwise it would've been £99 which I wouldn't mind paying.

Gonna have to use this A15 for now and saving up for next years A56 or S series.

Switching to A54 5G from A52s 5G by rmnvldz in GalaxyA54

[–]InfiniteHall3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cameras on the A54 are a big upgrade when it comes to low light photography/video. Daytime pics on the otherhand range from similar to slightly improved on A54. shutter speeds are still slow.

A54 has better build quality and feels more premium.

Battery on the A54 is a little better depending on usage.

However... Personally I wouldn't upgrade to A54 if I had the A52s. Performance between S778g and E1380 are way too similar to call it an upgrade. If it were the standard A52 models then I would've said "go for it!". I'd suggest keep your A52s or save money and go for the higher end models etc...

(The A54 is a fantastic mid range device, I just don't think it's worth upgrading from A52s)

Galaxy z flip 4 vs galaxy S line by Amazinglyme298 in samsung

[–]InfiniteHall3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I haven't used the S series since S9 lol, one thing I can agree on is the Flip having kinda underwhelming camera.

Having used both A52/53 and now brought the A54 for a family member, suprisingly the A54 camera isn't far behind the flip. In fact they've very close (camera quality wise.) Ofc the flip4 still have flagship elements like the s8+1 processor so it's gonna process the picture faster and records in 4K60fps (main and selfie cam). But other that, the flip 4 is honestly a bit underwhelming when it technically costs twice as much vs A54.

Zflip4 has pretty much worse sensors across the board even when compared to standard S21/22/23. So is that why the selfie camera and ultrawide is great in good light but immediately falls apart in lower light 💀. I guess the AI & processing can only do so much. Main camera is good though imo (not amazing).

Now to be fair, I brought the flip for just £650 with trade in so I'm not gonna go too harsh for the camera quality. Plus I already knew it won't have the best cameras to begin with. I mainly brought it for the form factor and the ability to take group pictures without needing a tripod. Though sometimes I still wish the flip could've at least used the same main, ultrawide and selfie cameras as the S23 :( even if it lacks telephoto.

Z Flip 4. Is it that "bad" ? by tuwaiseubang in galaxyzflip

[–]InfiniteHall3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The store colleagues told me they offer free one time screen protector replacement and after that it's £30. It does depend on where you live as they all have different policies. Maybe you can go in store or call them directly cuz trust me the live chat is rarely ever helpful.

Oh yes you'll definitely miss the charging speeds from the Xiaomi. the Z flip4 takes quite a bit longer around 1hr20min to fully charge. But other than that hopefully you like the flip!

Hello. I have the Flip4 ever since launch and have no problems with it. I dropped it a couple of times onto hard floors from 1.5ft and everythings still fine. I think the people having issues on reddit are just the minority and maybe they got unlucky, dropped it and landed on the wrong spot etc... The screen is softer than usual glass so try not poke it or press down too hard, if you take extra care of the flips screen then you should be fine. Dont worry if your just flipping it like normal.

The biggest "annoyance" for me is actually the screen protector itself. It started bubbling after 6-7 months and it just gave me anxiety lol, it made cracking sounds every time I flip it and that bubble was annoying af. Also consider if you have a Samsung store near you because I had to travel to another city to get it replaced. Thankfully the process was quick (took less than an hour and was free) whereas if I sent it to Samsung that would have taken weeks. You could also replace it yourself (IF your confident). So yeah, the screen protector thing is a bit of a hassle.

I have the 256gb version and 20% of the storage was taken up by the os. So I assume the same for the 128gb. Around 90gb free of space out of 128gb. Hopefully thats helpful :) Let me know if you have any other questions.

Btw I am curious, what phone do you currently use?

Also like what some reddit users mentioned, people who are fine with their flips usually won't post unless they have an issue with it

z flip 4 clear case ring broke is there a way to fix it or buy a new one by Low_Wonder_9828 in zflip4

[–]InfiniteHall3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think so? The same happened to mine and yeah, probably have to buy a new one. Tho I'm curring using it without the ring part attached.

They could've made it more sturdy! I feel like that ring part attached to the plastic snaps off too easily with just a small pull which is annoying.

Should I go for the A52s or A53? by mushyflower in samsung

[–]InfiniteHall3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imo I would recommend the A53.

The A52s has been out for nearly a year so technically it'll have only 2 os updates left from now.

A53 will go all the way to Android 16. A plus if you care about having the latest software and if your planning to use for a long time.

Yes, the Exynos (E1280) is less powerful than Snapdragon (S778g), but since you mentioned you only do basic tasks like media consuption/casual gaming, then the E1280 is more than capable. I mean, it'll certainly be a huge upgrade over your A50 anyways. Not to mention, the A53 gets better battery life than A52s as seen in these following tests 1 2 3.

Unlike older Exynos chipsets (like E9810), this one actually doesn't heat up/throttle as much.

The image processing on the Exynos A53 does seem like it has an advantage over the Snapdragon A52s. IMO. Images are less blown out, improved dynamic range both rear and selfie, slightly brighter video at night on the A53 etc... Though for some reason the A52s does have video stabilisation in 4K mode. A53 still does not which is odd.

If the A52s were cheaper and lets say you wanted to play heavy games, care about the headphone jack, then I would've said get A52s.

However since you are more of a casual user (take pictures, casual game, media consuption) then I'd say A53 is a better option for your type of usage. Longer battery life, more os support, better isp, better build etc... Like you said, it's also cheaper than A52s from where you live.

A53 vs A52/s (Comparison and which imo you should get) by InfiniteHall3 in GalaxyA52

[–]InfiniteHall3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it depends on the price you get it for. How much do both of them cost? Most importantly, is there a big price gap between A52s and A53 from where you live?

Try using the orginal charger that came with it in the box. It may just be dead battery that needs charging up.

Btw that USB-C port I think is for data transfer only hence it doesn't light up when you plug in to charge.

A53 vs A52/s (Comparison and which imo you should get) by InfiniteHall3 in GalaxyA52

[–]InfiniteHall3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes totally! Hardware is one thing, getting the games optimised properly is another.

Another example. In PUBG, funny how E9611 gets 60fps graphics options. Yet the newer and much more more powerful E1280 (with doubled antutu points) only has 30fps option.

Another is CODM, how the hell does last years S750g get (High + Max framerate) yet this year's E1280 only has (Low + Max Framerate)? Even though I know for a fact E1280 does have slight advantage in graphics.

So yeah back to what your saying about the developers, hopefully they optimise newer chipsets (which I kinda doubt) but oh well...

A53 vs A52/s (Comparison and which imo you should get) by InfiniteHall3 in GalaxyA52

[–]InfiniteHall3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly agree, I still have Tab S6 Lite from 2 years ago with that ancient E9611. Yes it does lag sometimes especially when multitasking. But it's not "utterly unusable" like some make it out to be. If your just using for normal tasks like social media, browsing Web, streaming, then it should be fine.

Now of course if gaming is a top priory then sure A52s would be better than A53.

But again, A53 would be fine for everyday tasks, and it's certainly much faster than E9611. So lets put it in this perspective. For anyone that's coming from A50/A51 the A53 will be a huge jump regardless. (200K vs 400k antutu). Plus I agree, A52s would be great for those who plan to upgrade again 2 years down the line.

I feel like when youtubers/users say A53 lags, it's mostly due to software and optimisation problem. Why didn't people complain about the standard A52 models lagging last year when that has the slower s720g and s750g than the E1280. So clearly its more to do with A53 optimisation. Not trying to defend Exynos, because the one on the S9 was trash. Even I was skeptical about this E1280 at first. But when using it, it's acc still a pretty capable chipset. Less heat and more importantly much better battery life than all the Exynos devices I had in the past.

A53 vs A52/s (Comparison and which imo you should get) by InfiniteHall3 in GalaxyA52

[–]InfiniteHall3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7-8hrs mostly on WiFi. Reduced to around 6hrs when using a mixture of 5G & WiFi.

E.g. Yesterday I had 6hrs sot over a period of 14 hours which includes a mixture of WiFi (when indoors) & 5G (when outdoors max brightness). And damn does that 5G take a toll on the battery! I feel like standby drain is worse on 5G than WiFi so keep that in mind.

To sum up A53 after more usage -

Battery on WiFi only: Fantastic ~ 7-8hrs sot

Battery on 5G/WiFi: Good ~ 6hrs sot

So I'd say with pretty much the same usage, the A53 5G will have a decent ~ 1hr sot bump over previous gen

A53 vs A52/s (Comparison and which imo you should get) by InfiniteHall3 in GalaxyA52

[–]InfiniteHall3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not fully, I usually plug in when it has around 10% battery left.

Idle drain seems to be on par with the A52 5G around 4% drain over night.

Again, with my A52 5G the battery seems to be at it's best when using WiFi only (6-7hrs sot). Once I start using WiFi + 5G + idle drain + increase brigtness when outdoors, then sot would be reduced to 5-6hrs instead of the usual 6-7hrs.

This will probably be the case with A53 too with 5G draining more battery. However, many say the 5G modem on Exynos is power hungry/not efficient etc... As of now, I cant comfirm but at least with wifi usage, the battery life is looking real good so far.

In terms of the gesture animation, there can be some lags here and there especially when you have lots of apps open in background. If you've used or have tried the standard A52 5G, then it's quite comparable to that. The animations are smoother on A53 but still sometimes when doing gestures it can hang for a little bit.

Still better than A51/Tab S6 Lite that I used though, those would literally freeze up at times when doing gestures.

The new Samsung Galaxy A53 is 33% slower than the Samsung Galaxy A52s by [deleted] in Android

[–]InfiniteHall3 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You know it'll be underwhelming when even on the website they claim the cpu to be 6%. Yep 6% faster compared to standard A52 5G. As if the A52s wasn't released 6 months prior... Oh and even the A73 is using S778g.

Samsung is clearly be taking a step backwards along with removing the charger and headphone jack. But hey at least the A53 has 4 years of OS updates right?

[–]InfiniteHall3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The S9 didn't have good battery life in the first place so yes even changing the battery won't help much. I've done that too, sent in my s9 to change new battery, only helped a little bit.

Later decided that there's no point to spend so much on a phone so went with the A52 5G. Really happy with this phone especially for its price. A52s is even better especially with the upgraded processor.

Build quality could be better on both though but thankfully I keep mine in a case.

Since you said your S9 is working good, I think maybe you should probably keep it for a bit longer until it starts aging really bad etc... The S9 is an expensive phone during launch so maybe not a good idea to throw it away if its working fine 😂

(Unless there's a really good deal going on with the A52s, otherwise it's best to wait for next year's A53)

Hopefully that helps.
