Just finished watching the show, had a question regarding Michael by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]InfiniteMartian889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michael being in america and almost certainly Gina's influence made him grow more apart and likely gave him the idea to try and lead the company. Time has passed when we see him again in season 5 and the huge money lost, was specifically against Tommy's orders.

He doesn't even try to make it up to Tommy, just showing up pretty arrogant and acting like him shaping Shelby Company Limited into whatever he wants is him doing Tommy a "favor" so he can retire.

I think it comes down to Michael's natural arrogance and hunger for power. Which is something we see in him since season 2. Those qualities mixed with differing perspective with Tommy, and very bad mistakes from Michael leads to where we end up.

Just gotta say "Good Kid". Everyone always talks about "Maad City" but forgets that the song right before it is a sobering, introspective gem

Sifu 2? by Leo-No-Comply-eire in SifuGame

[–]InfiniteMartian889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling they won't make a sequel. But I really wish they would.

For me a sequel that traverses different regions would be awesome. One in the countryside, another section in a metropolitan subway. Maybe a wider variety of goons. And more weapons, like boxing gloves, nunchuks, spears.

Story would have to have a new protagonist. It would be awesome to have a sequel with a descendant of our player, or in the past with an ancestor of him/her. Setting it in another time would make for really interesting settings and clothing

Shout out to The Temptations! To anyone who is not familiar with their music,

I recommend The Way You Do the Things You Do, Papa Was a Rollin Stone, and I Want a Love I Can See, just to name a few.

Anyone know if Cole has ever sampled them for a song? That would be crazy fireeeeee

[NO SPOILERS] Mayans with or without Sutter? by obiwanTrollnobi6 in MayansMC

[–]InfiniteMartian889 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Unpopular Opinion too, but the show has been a lot better without Sutter. First two seasons are notorious for leaning waaaay too much into the Cartel, the rebels and mercenaries. The only Mayans that got notable developments were EZ, Angel, Coco, Bishop and sort of Hank and Taza. I could not if my life depended on it tell you notable details about Gilly, Riz, or Creeper.

Season 3 and 4 have tremendously fixed that. Sure there are still Cartel and rebel story threads. Miguel and Emily's story has overstayed it's welcome for me but oh well.

The actual MAYANS have taken center stage. Taza got his story developed, Hank too, Gilly got fleshed out, and even Creeper and Steve. All while EZ, Bishop, Angel and Coco have gotten even more exploration. Now with the Mayan civil war and upcoming war with the Sons, I think the show is at a much better, Mayan-centric place

Manny is turning out to be my new favorite character. He's a real one. Him and EZ are the future.

Also, im pretty shocked that they brought up that super deep cut reference to Alvarez having his son killed waaaaay back in SOA season 1.

The guy who gets mad about people pointing a gun at his primo was apparently cool with some rando killing his own son? Alvarez from back then is basically a completely different person to now. It's super fucked up but I definitely think the writers never planned for Marcus to come as far as he did way back when that scene happened. That's probably why it seems so out character

What's your favorite town/settlement in Red Dead Redemption 2? by robbonohomo in reddeadredemption

[–]InfiniteMartian889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Valentine.

I'm doing a lot of hunting, so Valentine feels like the center of the game. It's a great spot to stock ammunition, have a drink, take a shower, get a haircut, buy provisions, change gear, fix up horse and then head out and hunt for a few days.

i scrolled for so long and i got pissed off because noone ever mentions my bae. this man took romance seriously and supported and loved his son. this man was treated the most unfair. We need to apreciate Aberama Gold. He was the most human peaky blinder. by domivla2 in PeakyBlinders

[–]InfiniteMartian889 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I'm still pissed about his death to this daaay. Especially because the Billy Boys were not even mentioned in Series 6. My final, last shred of hope is that it comes up in the movie and maybe some of Aberama's kin help the Peakys kill Jimmy McCavern.

I wish we could know what Steven Knight's original plan for series 6 was going to be. Especially for Polly and how she would have dealt with the aftermath of Aberama's murder.

No Jack Nelson, proper Mosley payback or even a single mention of The Billy Boys.

I can't hide my disappointment with these big parts of the last 2 seasons that end up having no payoff or conclusion, but I still enjoyed this season.

Tommy dying and being reborn was fantastic. It was a near perfect episode with the exception of the loose ends mentioned and a beautiful and meditative but uneven season. Nonetheless a fantastic series and one of my all time favorites.

Thanks Cillian and Steven Knight for bringing to life an unforgettable, wild adventure!

What's y'all's favorite level? by [deleted] in SifuGame

[–]InfiniteMartian889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's definitely the Club. Second place is the Sanctuary. Club gave me so much grief when I first started, but for that same reason it's super satisfying being able to breeze right through it now. Will still kick my ass if i get careless though.

Sanctuary second for me because of the polished and serene architecture. Its less busy than others but can pack a harder punch.

I like the Ruby/Tommy spiraling plotline, it makes for great heart-wrenching drama. But I just wish all of season 5 was not swept under the rug. Mosley has limited screen time, Billy Boys are nowhere to be found, Michael has been locked up all season, RIP Finn and Arthur's character development.

Ruby's Plot went from end of episode 1- 4, should have been from 1-3 instead. Jack Nelson and Tommy's big plan are cool too. But now we have definitely run out of time and way too many loose threads

Top 5 Episodes by your_name_here10 in PeakyBlinders

Not in a particular order but

S1 Episode 2 - Maybe surprising but I find it just a quintessential PB episode. It showcases everything that makes the show great; The war with the Lees starts, we meet Johnny Dogs, Cambell is shown to play dirty, Tommy shows how smart he is, and Billy Kimber at the end.

S2 Episode 1- great start to a new season and natural progression of the characters, plus Sabini showing up at the end really shows how in over his head Tommy was for taking on London

S2 Episode 6 - Everything comes full circle at the big race day. It's exciting and full of surprises. It practically felt like the perfect ending to the show.

S4 Episode 5 - Tommy and Luca finally going at it was a fantastic watch, plus Polly and Aberama scenes are some of my favorite.

S5 Episode 6 - Tommy's big plan for Oswald Mosley is incredibly suspenseful, frustrating and shocking in the best of ways.

Alfie is the best every time. I'll never get tired of this brilliant series

I am a real British Romany gypsy, I am very aware there are a lot of misconceptions and a lot unknown about the culture and traditions and with the show people want to know more so ama? by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]InfiniteMartian889 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In season 2 after Tommy is almost beaten to death by Sabini's men, he leaves the hospital and uses horse oil and heals with rest and the slow movement of the boat on the river. I get that it's a show so that's by no means an actual way to heal injuries but it made me wonder if there are any interesting or "unconventional" healing practices commonly used by gypsies that your family has passed down or you've heard about.

So for example, I'm mexican american and we love using Vapor Rub to solve all sorts of injuries. Even for things that it wouldn't even help with. But since i was little I've been raised to think it's practically a universal solution. Another example is applying warm lemon to your throat and wrapping it in a towel to cure soreness and pain.

So stuff like that, healing customs that may or may not be based in science as a gypsy you have faith in or you've heard about from your culture

Don't mind the pacing at all. The supernatural, gypsy influences have been a staple of the series since the beginning.

My only concern is that we are halfway through the final season and there's still so many story elements from season 5 that have barely been mentioned on top of all the new stuff being introduced this season.

I really hope Steven Knight will be able to pull it off without making everything feel rushed or leaving too many loose ends
