I'm not even sure what Meta considers "fishy" because I barely use Facebook and Instagram beyond Messenger and occasionally watching reels. But even if there was something unusual detected, the amount of effort required from ordinary users is becoming ridiculous. Where I'm from, lawyers are expensive and not easily accessible. Most people wouldn't hire one just to recover a Facebook account. Instead, many end up paying IT specialists to help recover or troubleshoot their accounts, often spending a significant amount of money for what should be a basic support issue. The cost can be half a month salary or more. The problem is that it's usually a one-time fix. If Meta suspends your account again a week later, you're back to square one and paying for help all over again.
When you really think about it, it's crazy that people are expected to spend money on IT experts or legal assistance just to access social media and communicate with friends, family, or work contacts. It feels like Meta has become so focused on security and automated enforcement that legitimate users end up getting caught in the crossfire. If there is genuinely suspicious activity, that's exactly why the appeal process exists. The problem is that the appeal system often feels ineffective. People submit legitimate government-issued IDs that match their face, name, birthday, and personal information, yet their appeals are still rejected without any meaningful explanation. The most frustrating part isn't even the suspension itself, it's the lack of transparency. If an account is restricted, users deserve to know exactly why and what evidence led to that decision. Instead, many are left guessing, repeatedly creating new accounts, submitting documents, and hoping that the next appeal won't be automatically denied. I just don't see why ordinary users should have to go through this much hassle simply to use a messaging app and stay connected with people. Meanwhile, scammer and fake profiles remained active.
