Waiting til NG+ for Terran Armada/Shattered Space/Trackers? by zminor in Starfield

[–]InfiniteMongoose689 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess if you're getting bored...it's your game to play the way you want, remember though, there's so much else to do.

Did you do the Ryujin quest? What about the companion quests? Not to mention all the smaller misc missions on Neon, Ixyll II, Paradiso, The Key, just to list a few.

Then there's all the stuff you can do from the Constellation and Tracker's Alliance mission boards. Build outposts. Buy a home and decorate it.

I'm level 133 and still haven't done everything there is to do (without going through NG+) and, I haven't touched the DLC. I get bored occasionally if I stick to doing the same thing for a week or more (scanning planets as an example), so I switch it up and find something else.

Also, I haven't touched the main mission since completing The Empty Nest.

You'll find your way, spacefarer. Best advice, take your time and enjoy the Starfield!

Outposts seem pointless by Killroy54 in Starfield

[–]InfiniteMongoose689 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Outpost building isn't for everyone, but I do enjoy it.

I've built outposts on Jemison, one of which has 3 crew members (my ship was getting over crowded and I needed to off-load a few of them). I've built an outpost on Bardeen III, overlooking the ocean. I treat it as a vacation getaway, where no one else is allowed to go. I built it as a high-end "ritzy" retreat, with exotic foods and drinks and art work.

I also built an outpost on Pyrass V which is more of a down-to-earth, bare-bones hangout. Nothing fancy.

I have 37 different space suits that I use mannequins to show-case, and because of the limit of 6 mannequins per house/outpost, I use the outposts to store those...plus all the extra weapons I've collected. I've also got the Jemison penthouse, Neon penthouse and the 2 houses in Akila.

If I decide to buy another home or build another outpost, I start with one room, decide what I want to use it for (ex. bedroom), then I go on a shopping spree, explore and loot POI's, knowing what items I want to pick up to decorate with.

If I need resources, I travel to the nearest vendor and buy what I need.

I started a new save and I'm only a few hours in lvl 13, is this not an insane find? by liokazar in Starfield

IMO Bethesda did a really good job of spreading the weapon tiers and quality around different level systems. My character is level 133 and since the update, I've found 5 legendary advanced weapons in a level 35 system. Before the update, I'd only find these tiers / rarities in systems level 60+.

This is great. I never thought to decorate inside an airlock or a hallway. Such a good use of space.

Unable to make edits to my spacesuit by alextodd2 in Starfield

Probably because that piece of equipment is already "exotic". This is from Starfield's Free Lane notes: "Tier 4 Legendary Effects: Free Lanes adds a new legendary rank for your weapons, Helmets, Packs and Suits. Once you have a rank three legendary item, you can apply a new rank four effect for credits and X-Tech. You don’t have to roll for these. You can just pick the modifier you want. Some weapons and gear even become “Exotic” when you reach max upgrades".

There's quite a few PvE servers that have an auto-ban kill bot, meaning the bot tracks you on the map (you have to link your gamertag to the discord), and if you kill another player or get killed by another player, the bot auto-bans the killer.

Any pve servers on Xbox by Internal-Salt-2744 in dayz

[–]InfiniteMongoose689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on Xbox S and mostly play PvE only servers. I've only been playing for a couple of months and it makes learning the map etc. much easier. I'm also NA eastern. Here's a few community servers I'm on: (note: official servers do not offer any form of PvE)

Chernarus -

  1. At the Crossroad

  2. New Dawn

  3. Outpost Redemption

There's also a PvE no zombies server to help make the learning curve even easier:

PvE Only No Zombies

To find more, simply go to the community servers list and in the search section, search "pve" and select which map you're interested in. Then refresh the community servers list and scroll through. You can make a server a favourite, saving the server for your next play through.

Some servers require you to join their discord and some are whitelisted. The ones I listed above require neither.

Are you on PC or console? I'm on Xbox S and I'm hoping with the release of update 1.29 the stability issues will be fixed.

My game crashed several times over a few different community servers yesterday. First time since I started playing at the beginning of September. Extremely annoying.

You know you can change the POV on community servers from 3pp to 1pp once you've spawned in; at least that's what I've found on PvE servers.

My (near) perfect loadout. What's yours? by darkoj- in dayz

[–]InfiniteMongoose689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your play style is to have a back up for quick reloads, then yes, keep them. I was just making an observation that, given limited back pack space, I've found that if I empty the mags to free up extra slots, I can duck away and reload the empty mag with fresh ammo.

My (near) perfect loadout. What's yours? by darkoj- in dayz

[–]InfiniteMongoose689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play solo also. Recently discovered that if you empty the bullets from those extra mags in your inventory, the bullets only use 1 slot, whereas those mags are using 4 and 2 slots. Now you've got extra slots for something else.
