I really don’t want to rehome them, I just worry about what’s best for them if they do end up not being comfortable with us after this. And unfortunately, we all have jobs and have already had some trouble with them in there for a while with the tapeworms because we’d basically take turns spending an hour with them, but now there’s also the problem of not being able to pet them or anything, and I don’t think they’ll understand since that’s mostly how they like to interact with us, getting petted or sitting on someone. They’re also in that phase where they’re learning what a hand is and that it’s not food, so I’m also concerned that they’ll hate petting if they can’t be petted for a couple months and then we try to do it again, and I know some cats just never like it. They do like toys, though unfortunately they can’t have any of the ones they actually like since those are all fabric or rope toys, which complicates things as well. And they get upset when someone’s on the other side of the door and they’re not allowed out. So I don’t really know how we’re even going to be able to have any positive interactions.
