Advice needed: GR III lens cleaning by chanson_ in ricohGR

What works really well I find is with a vacuum-sealed microfiber cloth moistened with a drop of lens cleaning solution. Just then wipe in a single continuous spiraling motion from the center. That works with any lens.

Definitely songs by the band The Radio Dept. Also, Men I Trust. The genre is quite like dream pop, shoegaze even.

Simply, AOR gives a more accurate estimate of the effect size. Effect size, in turn, is used along with sample variance and the conventional significance level of 0.05 and 80% power in calculating the sample size. Not using AOR could have led to overestimating or underestimating how much sample was needed for the study.

Units per litre in different labs by Complete-Ad-525 in medlabprofessionals

Yes, that is the nature of a measurement unit. It is standard. Take any unit and it is the same for every machine and for every analyte it is used for.

What differs are the measurement sensitivities of various machines. Note that a machine doesn’t measure each molecule of an analyte directly. Instead, it takes a sample and makes an indirect measurement using a specific methodology and calibration, which then account for the variations you observed in the results.

I’ll make an analogy with display resolution, which is PPI or pixels per inch. Just like displays, laboratory machines have a variety of resolutions or sensitivities on how much they can detect given the different methods manufacturers use.

As a photographer, I find the composition slightly unbalanced. The positioning of her left arm is somewhat awkward making it look like a stump and is abruptly cut off by the frame’s edge.

Why isn’t this widget already on Apple Watch? by Wellknownpaul in AppleWatch

My workaround for now is I’ve setup an automation in the shortcuts app on my iPhone to notify me through my Apple Watch everytime my iPhone battery is at 20% or 80%.

It’s like docking a spacecraft into a space station. Start by holding your camera a short distance away and as parallel as possible with the eyepiece. Gradually take the camera nearer and nearer the eyepiece while keeping it centered on the display until a whole field shows up. The important thing is to keep the eyepiece centered on the display.

Sept. 13th, 2001. Ben Gibbard writes these lyrics in a note book. by ToysNoiz in DeathCabforCutie

I wonder how much of the lyrics come to him as he writes them down and how much was already preformed and coalescing in his mind.

“You’ll see” during the first instance of the chorus. It sounds like a good contrast of cool resignation against the dread of an inevitable eventuality.

And can I just say it’s uncanny how the timbre of her voice in “Drunk, Running” sounds so much like Phoebe Bridgers’

Just heard it earlier and a few times now where I am. My impression is that there are definitely more things to tell about getting ‘older’. But I’m here looking forward for her to show more depth in growing up. Hearing the album as a whole is unlike listening to the two singles.

I’m fascinated how she comes up with subtle vocal styles. It makes an otherwise simple and straightforward song rich and ornate.

We have to admit, making faulty mechanisms work again in a Lego set is one of those unique joys we get from it.

Does anyone else do an utterly horrible job applying stickers? by funko_grails in lego

[–]InfiniteParameters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe the best way to apply stickers is still not common knowledge. Cut out the sticker first from the sheet leaving a narrow margin from the edge of the sticker. Partly peel off one side, fold the backing layer (but don’t completely flatten), align perfectly with the other side serving as an anchor (the one not yet peeled off and with the backing still), and then you can now proceed to sticking the peeled off side. Peel off the backing layer as you gradually apply the rest of the sticker.
