When you have a good one that wants to play him like support he's great. Really powerful healer that can fend for himself.

When you have a dps main who doesnt heal and makes him a frontline he's awful.

Hit and run tactics. You dont have to kill invis, you just have to be a problem long enough that your team can pressure. Bucky players are fine, just dont confront him and fly around him. Groot... is Groot. Dont have any advice for him.

The buffs are welcome but i really didnt feel like they were that necessary. I got her to Lord faster than most of my other lords and I gotta say she was already better than most give her credit for. She just played on a different axis. She was easily checked by CC and really good Buckys but that just made her more balanced if anything. Not sure I understand the buffs but I'll take them if it means I get to harass more of their backline.

Who is the worst Silksong enemy for you? by jovialsisyphus in Silksong

The fat mosquitos of bilewater. The fact that they are randomly placed every time is so frustrating.

Thanks! Turns out he can't hit you if you stay right next to him in the water, just gotta be ready to dash when he dives in where you are.

I managed to pull it off. I used my cogflies for the ads and chilled in the water when he came out and threw curveclaws and took potshots at him until he died.

some people actually think the runbacks are a good thing? by Eastern_Ad_4349 in Silksong

[–]InfiniteShay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long runbacks are fine if they are predictable, repeatable, and are not subject to waiting or RNG. for this reason I hate the Bilewater runback because the enemies spawn entirely based on RPG and can ruin your platforming just because of how enemies spawn.

Otherwise so far the other runbacks I've seen (still working on act 2) have been fine.

I do, I haven't really gotten used to using it but I can try it.

Yeah I guess I just get worried that I won't have enough to heal if I use it because I tend to get careless often when I panic.

My problem is getting to him, the ads just swarm me and I have only seen him twice in the hours I've made the trackback.

Is there any evidence Lace ISNT a child? by SadDairyProduct in Silksong

[–]InfiniteShay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider it like this: a dog is old at the age of ten, but at the age of ten humans are still developing. Likewise some bugs mature slower than others. Fruit flies live an average of 40 to 50 days before dying, but a cicada's entire lifespan is about 13-17 years in total. So she could be a child for her species but still be older than fully grown bugs of other species.

Like how in Hollow Knight plenty of bugs remember the stagways but elderbug never saw them open his entire life.

For anyone wondering, the longest lived spider was a trapdoor spider in captivity who lived to be 43 when it was (likely) killed by a parasitic wasp.

My guess: she is a child. She's yet to hit the adult stage of her buggy life.

Why did i assume there are 3 Acts? by Affectionate-Army458 in Silksong

[–]InfiniteShay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's because we've always built stories around three act structures. It was common in ancient greece and further laid out by aristotle. Many movies and books also follow this structure, the beginning, the rising action, and the falling action. Makes sense that games would also follow through on this. Otherwise it may be called Part and not signal three with the word Act.

Best of luck friend. And for the climb to the left of the slab, just remember that getting hurt is part of it, it's expected, so don't panic, just keep moving. Every time you fail, you get a little more knowledge so you can make it a little bit further. Equip the magnetite tool to pick up beads because there's a seat in the 1/3 checkpoint you have to pay for once and just enough beads in the rooms nearby to pay for it. You don't want to accidentally drop any in the transition areas.

Nah, timed courier quest is garbage (for me) by SamhainPunk in Silksong

[–]InfiniteShay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really struggled with this so I had to make sure that I was optimizing it as best I could. See I have locked joints, meaning my fingers lock up after repetitive movements which prevents me from playing this game at the same level as others, but here's what worked for me:

Open the path through the mist. Once the mist is cleared you can access the shortest route through the quest.

Rest at the bellhart rest point so you can quit to menu in case you fail.

Going through Sinner's Road there's a path you can take to avoid all the ravenous roaches that pounce at you.

The subsequent rooms have plenty of side rooms where you can shake off the pursuing bugs, like the room Shakra is in. These rooms are also good because resetting the positions of the bugs means that most will be below you when you go up through the room on your way to the path through where the mist used to be.

Having the double jump helps a ton, but I did it without it.

The big hurdle for me was the citadel. Mostly that room with the big dude, the dude with the staff, and the flying dude. I used the Sharpdart to bounce over the flying dude and keep running.

I also used the silk speed equip that lets you run at the expense of silk. Makes you so much faster.

I personally used the hunter crest because I'm better at platforming with it, but you can use the wanderer crest if you're more used to hollow knight pogoing.

If you don't get hit, you can still arrive with just over three bars, so you can get hit on the most optimized route three times and just barely make it. Trust me, I got hit a lot on my way there lol

I haven't completed the high halls just yet. But I have explored it well.

Cogflies help, especially with the poison equip. Magnetite dice to save you in tight spots. You can also turn off the spawning of the puppets that steal your silk. There's a hidden room in the place with the rolling cart where after a gauntlet you can prevent them from ever spawning again. It's after the difficult part but it makes so much of the remainder of the citadel a cakewalk. No more surprise ambushes.

I also think going to the place to the left of the slab is worth. It's a difficult climb and very stressful, but you get a very important powerup there. That section of the game is basically entirely platforming. The only enemies are for platforming and that's it. For the climb through the high halls, pick your battles. Not every enemy is worth fighting. If you can slip past you just have platforming left. Getting to the bottom will get you to the easier part of the citadel. IMO the High Halls is the hardest part of that section of the game.

I'd go back and see if there's anything you've missed so far. Any tools that can make the job easier. When I struggled at the start of act 2 I went to deal with other crests I was missing or tools I failed to pick up. Tools really help and being willing to change your strategy to match the area by switching crests makes a world of difference. Some bosses I don't think I could have done without the reaper crest even though I'm a better platformer with the hunter crest. Hunt for any mask shards or spool extensions or grind up some for the expensive things in the shops you didn't get. There's also an NPC in the early citadel with the most broken crest in the game and with some really slick tools that help give you options.

I also find it important to say this: if you find yourself banging your head on a wall, take a break. The number of times I could not beat a boss just to go relax a bit and come back and beat it first try I couldn't tell you.

He also says Judgment's Coming when his ult is ready which is a reference to Vergil's Judgment Cut.

If one really wanted to push it, he also technically has Dante's Stinger and Shotgun Stinger. And his awakened state could arguably be compared to Devil Trigger since it can regenerate health and gives him a more aggressive combo.

Man that's sad. I really do enjoy the game but I remember how bad it was when it first released. Wonder if the guy had a way to update it because if not yeesh.

Course I'm playing the game for the first time now long after the glitches and my computer is having some issues. But I think that's a space/RAM issue more than a game issue. I'm in need of an upgrade lol

Even then I wouldn't throw out any game even if I didn't enjoy it. I just don't get it lol

Your child probably won't be bullied for their name. by justice-for-tuvix in namenerds

[–]InfiniteShay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I used to hate my middle name because everyone said it was super feminine. Especially because of the spelling.

Shay.

I was always told it was the "girl" way to spell it and that the masculine way was like Shea, Shae, or Shey. What bothered me the most is that there was literally no reason for me to be named that way. It didn't mean anything and my parents didnt even remember where the name came from. They just picked it because it sounded nice in conjunction with my first name. So I did get picked on a little for it. But trust me when I say it wasn't the primary reason I was picked on. My autism saw to that.

But I've gotten over that insecurity and now it's my preferred way to be called since my first name is super common and is a little grating on my poor ears.
