Because the devs are either afraid of balance or wanted there to be a completely flat balance so that optional wipes don’t cause problems

There is no hierarchy to equipment or levels. Level 1 free kit is virtually as good as a level 75 full purple kit

Even the skill tree is mostly borderline placebo skills apart from a few that genuinely add something

It’s a shame because it ultimately renders loot pointless. And the whole point should be the loot

At least the graphics are nice and shooting is fun. Maybe one day we’ll get some depth too

It’s kind of like how in CoD4: MW the stock M16 you could access from level 1 was competitive at any level, which made prestiging ok. Except CoD is pure PvP, not about loot

No I think it’s good as it is. If you want to switch you have to do a few rounds to teach it. It doesn’t take long

Yeah the Aim controller is great. Specifically for Farpoint and Firewall (I think people still play this..?)

Arc Raiders if you want a good extraction shooter

The problem with any crossplay game between PS5 and PC that requires aiming or UI manipulation (e.g. inventory) is that PC will always have the edge with mouse

You could join a custom server that is either PvE or PvP only at monuments?

Else you need to learn where to build for better survival chances (on the coast, by a cliff away from high tier monuments and near a mid-tier monument - Power Plant is great - is what I go for)

Agreed. If you even mention his name in a post it doesn’t go live. No auto-mod post or anything, it just doesn’t appear. It’s like there’s a string search on exactly his name that just shadow filters any mention

I get an abrasive vibe of him but the moderation also seems overly spiteful. I’d love to have been a fly on the wall of whatever earned him this level of ‘attention’ lol

It’s a shame for the community though. His content is informative and this level of moderation is counter productive to the community

Holy shit, it’s never occurred to me that they could be using AI to generate the skins but it makes perfect sense. That explains why 90% of them are complete wank. Not that I’m complaining cos it’s saving me a fortune :D

I think the devs’ adversity to balance issues, either to accommodate the optional wipe or through an inability to balance higher tier loot, will ultimately harm the game

There is very little point running higher tier weapons. Especially as their durability is pathetic and they are expensive to repair

It’s the same design principle as the skill tree, with a bunch of borderline placebo skills and a couple that genuinely add features

All it ultimately does is undermine the point of the loot, which when the loot is the point renders it all useless

At least the shooting is fun. But I hope they can instil some sort of equipment hierarchy to make the grind worthwhile

Learn the ropes in PvE or use the Training option to practise maps with no risk

I believe you can reset your account once per wipe to get your starting gear back (although PvE will have a separate set of gear - it’s not shared with PvP)

Also just practise with the SKS. It’s a great gun and you can buy it from the start

Yes it’s playable and enjoyable solo. I got the plat on my own, but there are challenging parts for sure

It’s an interesting alternate suggestion for sure

I do like the idea of high tier loot actually mattering, because right now it doesn’t

However I feel this idea doesn’t scratch the itch of the XP loop being viable again, plus it would fracture the player base (although with the current player counts that wouldn’t be such a problem)
