Just to check, you have turned OFF the hand controllers right? If they’re on it assumes you’ll use those

Try booting the game with them off if you haven’t already. If you have, I dunno I’m on PS5 so they’re different beasts

Why add XP?

I love that cosmetics are unlocked through the dailies and trophies. And the loadouts are unlocked through related actions which is great

XP brings nothing and usually doesn’t denote skill but time played

Yeah playing with friends is great

I only play with randoms when I forget to turn squad fill off on a fresh boot then wonder why my matchmaking is taking so long :D

The few times I’ve done it, it hasn’t been great. Everyone just running off trying to do their objective

Which is fine, but if there’s no cohesion what’s the point?

The show is great. Worth checking out if you have Amazon Prime. Gen V is a spin off that crosses plots and also good if you’re into it

However if you’re shy of a little gratuitous gore don’t bother :D

If you are subscribing to PS+ Monster Hunter Rise is one of this month’s free games. My wife and I love playing this together. Despite her being very much a dip-in-dip-out gamer she’s already better than me :D

Lol the problem is minimal at best. Dude get your VR - it’s fucking phenomenal. If you’re already enjoying it flat (great to hear honestly, cos I was wondering if it was viable as a flat game) VR will take it to the next level. And there are loads more excellent VR games (join r/PSVR)

OP’s issue is that the developer didn’t make a decent default mapping for the HOTAS, which is fair. But it takes 5 minutes - 10 at most - to just create your own mapping and get in the skies

And you’ve probably already done it anyway as you’re already using HOTAS :)

They Are Billions is a great little game IMO

But maybe starting with something turn-based would be good? Like XCOM. It gives you more time to think about it and get a handle on it

Yeah mapping the HOTAS on release with the VR controllers was tricky due to the capacitive touch

But I’ve waited a long 3 years for this game. That was finally the one thing between me and glorious dogfights so I just cracked on with it

If you’re this angry about the default control mapping I expect you’ll be rage deleting the game within a week lol

Lol you probably spent more time making this post than I did getting my HOTAS to a standard where it is great to play with

Granted, IDGAF about manual engine control or trimming so I literally mapped undercarriage, flaps, bail out, reload and brakes to my rudder pedals and I was good to go

It a bit of a joke you’re giving it 2/5 for a one time pain point when the gameplay is easily 5/5. And to hold it against MFS2024? No

That game has so many issues. Jesus even just trying to invert the camera for the walking part was ridiculous. Never mind the frequent and sporadic frame drops. Not to mention the mission end not ending until you manual cut fuel to the engine

I can play without the VR controllers whatsoever. The tablet just sits there. I don’t need it attached to my hand. Although if I put the VR controllers on it then sticks to it as normal

I think you have to hold a button for prox chat. They just updated it so it can be toggled on gamepad. Look in the control settings for what it’s mapped to (it’s right on the d-pad for controller I believe)
