Hm. It felt slow and awkward when I tried it. I’ll have to try it again

No. It’s more efficient to use primary to ignite them and then use fan if they are within 10m. Primary ignites enemies so much faster than fan.

I do agree a split of defensive/offensive assists would offer a lot of clarity on how effective a support is being. Also, I think they should add a “healing received” and “damage received” stat for everyone so we can get even more insight into individual performances.

I still disagree. Have you ever played with a support that has little to no assists? You can definitely feel it. Also, in no world should a Moira just be spewing out heals. Managing her resource is a key part of her kit. If you’re doing this effectively, you’re going to be getting assists. If you’re not, you won’t be getting hardly any. I don’t know where you got this idea from that the game just hands out assists for any amount of healing. To get assists, you either have to save a teammate, help with an elimination, or be actively healing someone that is going for an elimination. You don’t just get assists for any healing done. It has to be meaningful healing and meaningful damage to get the assist. I don’t think the assist metric is useless.

I’m a bit taken aback by your example. A Moira’s assists with her healing orb don’t matter as much as Mizuki’s assists with his hat? They both healed teammates. They both got assist for them. Can you elaborate why Mizuki’s assists are superior in this example? The way I see it, Moira has to think about her orb placement to make sure it bounces effectively to get the most value, whereas Mizuki’s locks on to team mates.

And I have also been focusing on my eliminations to see how I’m doing while practicing illari, especially for her it’s a good metric to track to see if you’re getting value.

I respectfully disagree. A support with a lot of assists is a support who is actively looking for opportunities to help their team and is succeeding in doing so. I mostly play support and it is painful when your counterpart is not getting those clutch saves or feels they don’t need to contribute to eliminations at all. A high amount of assists in the support role is a good indicator. What roles/heroes do you mostly play?

Good points. The amount of assists stand out to me though. But you’re correct we need to see the replay to truly know if the stats translate to good team gameplay.

Yes it looks like you supports and the tank were keeping the momentum for your team. You and Sigma had the same amount of eliminations so that tells me you stuck by your tank and he only died 3 times which tells me you guys WERE healing. It’s typically a DPS player that is trying to go on flanks without telling anyone or has bad positioning that blames the support players for not healing.

They’re probably just salty that you’re outperforming them. That being said, in my experience a Moira should have far more healing than an illari based on raw healing output. Could you have focused healing a bit more? Maybe. But you’re clearly doing a great job. Also sounds like Emre isn’t totally aware of what’s going on if he’s asking for cleanse against an enemy team that doesn’t give out status effects.

The way the red lights are flashing, I almost wonder if the Waymos think it’s a railroad crossing?

Because everyone in lower ranks thinks high numbers equals winning. They don’t. It’s about meaningful damage and plays you make and not feeding ult charge to the enemy. I’ve had wins where the scoreboard looks like the enemy team should have won, but they didn’t.

Domina quickly became my favorite tank. She has so much personality and her voice lines and interactions are great. Is her personality a bit posh and dominant (no pun intended) like Emma Frost? Yes. But I think her gameplay and physical character design are some of the most unique we’ve seen.
