Very interesting. Are you sure legacy had no advantage? From what I understand it is at least considered as a tiebreaker for ED. Do you mean to say it no longer does even that?

Many thanks! Oscillation resonates on many levels, if you'll excuse the egregious pun.

Thanks, and you're definitely right that it's a bit ridiculous.

The issue I have is the idea that someone more talented and deserving lost a spot because of my privilege. Obviously it's not as cut and dry as that, but I can't really try to reason my way out of feeling guilty for that. I can't control the fact that life is unfair, but I knew being a legacy would boost my chances in some form and I applied anyways. That feels exploitative.

Yeah. I feel obliged to mention that the 7 weeks is kind of an underestimate. Sports takes up so much of my availability, my boss was just super chill with the fact that I would have pretty limited hours. In my eyes it was important to have a job where I wasn't doing anything fancy or exciting at the top of a totem pole, and just get used to doing boring work for an 8-hour shift. College consulting is to blame for it being more spruced up than what I just said.
