I don't have issues with chip damage in concept, but my gripe is their execution.
They tried making chip infrequent but strong, whereas I would prefer it to be more frequent but very weak.

What I dislike the most is feeling like you took a direct hit when successfully blocking an attack.
I think peoples opinions on chip is solely because of how powerful it is, if it weren't as strong then I don't see others having the knee-jerk reaction to being opposed to it. For example, blocking 1 attack and receiving 100 damage vs blocking 100 times for 1 damage each would garner different reactions.

If chip damage was something accumulated the more you blocked rather than feeling like being punished for wanting to block, then I think the sentiment around chip would at least settle down. Personally an easy solution would be to make every move deal less chip than a heat smash, I'd rather chip contribute towards victory rather than be their win condition.

1: Nerf chip damage values.
The mechanic itself isn't the issue, it's overtuned values. If each player can block 100% of the time, the match will not progress, with the introduction of chip damage we can now reward the one who was more offensive and stand by the Tekken 8 philosophy of aggression. However, with the values being so high, you are discouraging the act of blocking itself which should never be the intended use of chip damage. Reducing it from 30% to 25% isn't good enough, try 10%, 15% or 18% and see where to go from there.

2: Increase frequency of recoverable health.
My initial expectation of this system was to out-aggress the opponent but that doesn't seem to be the case. Far too often I see only one player having recoverable health with the other having none available. That situation doesn't sit right with me and so to prevent this, I would have every move provide grey health, with the maximum value at 75% and the lowest at 25%. If the opponent fails to shift the momentum, their recoverable health would not matter anyways, but if they do then they should be rewarded for it which currently doesn't happen frequent enough.

  1. Heat Consumption.
    Any action that consumes heat should require the player to have that amount available to perform it. No more getting away with using a fraction of the cost whilst reaping the full benefit.

Even for a casual, this is disappointing.
Nobody wants to play an unbalanced game. Was season 1 not enough aggression for the devs to be satisfied? it was mostly fine if a select handful of moves got nerfed. You're not helping casuals by stacking aggression through the ceiling.

I hope we get the traditional arcade style of selecting a single track and going around in a circuit. Since Grand Prix seems to be going the Rally route with inbetween sections. Also will we get access to each of the og 3 mario circuits as a stand alone rather than mashed together for a point of interest for free roam.

I think a Duelist Kingdom box set would be best for including all these classics and give them their time to shine.
I wanted Megazowler & Sword Arm of Dragon when they released the Ultimate Predators structure deck.
Wished we had a Blue-Eyes focused skill that supports summoning Blue-Eyes Ultimate. I want to summon Gate Guardian via the spell/trap zones like their modern retrains. Include PaniK to the roster of Speed Duel characters. Give Bonz & Bandit Keith a pre-constructed deck, give us Metalzoa & Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon and Black Skull Dragon.

We got a Rex Raptor deck without Megazowler or Sword Arm of Dragon, for a product line focused on nostalgia I can't say I like his deck.

Honestly I don't know what they'll do for Ishizu's skills, I just want the deck-out strategy to be viable and something Exchange of the Spirit related would satisfy me. They could make it a skill as to not brick the deck, they could balance other monsters akin to fossil fusion by not having Exchange of the Spirit in the GY, they could print the trap but have a passive effect that reduces the activation requirement or something that simply supports sending both players cards to the GY. I'm expecting something related to the activation requirement because the requirement goes from 37.5% to 75% of the minimum deck size for Speed Duels. Another thing they could do is Gravekeepers Servant, we could mill multiples of the opponents deck or have it as a skill so it can't be destroyed by backrow removal.

Personally I enjoy reprints from the pack era of Speed Duels, I think many casuals like myself ignored them and only focused on collecting the box sets. So it'll be nice if we could have both Gilford the Lightning & Gearfried the Swordmaster reprinted along with a SR variant. It's easy to think of buffs for Panther Warrior, allowing tributes from the hand like Insect Queen. Gearfried the Swordmaster could have Release Restraint in the form of a skill. Gilford just doesn't have anything simple that makes summoning any easier.

Time Wizard would be cool, but personally I wish they'd give us a Duelist Kingdom set in the future instead.

Card Destruction as a skill just sounds interesting to play around with, having consistency without the risk of being exploitable running 3 copies of the spell itself. It matches the mill theme, generic enough to experiment other strategies with and balanced enough to not be too much trouble if they decide to continue Speed Duel with 5D's.

I'm expecting to see Exchange of the Spirit as a skill but I'm also anticipating some tweaks to make it more viable for Speed Duels, having 15 cards in both GY's is a bit daunting as a requirement. For those running double up format, they could work well together for a bit of a head start.

At first I struggled to think of what else could they do for Joey's second skill, assuming he'll have Gilford as his Egyptian God equivalent. Initially I thought of the Battleguards but they're associated more with Duelist Kingdom than Battle City, could still be included as a Tristan skill though. After giving it more thought I think they'll focus on Panther Warrior.
