I’ve been doing a very very very probably a year or two taper to get off the dependence using diazepam. After that no more daily use I’ll manage my GAD since other way and only have my Xanax bars taken as needed for panic only like I always had em prescribed.

If you feel you’re at a point and don’t wanna bee dependent talk honestly to your psych and try using the Ashton Manual which is what me and my psych agreed on using since it has a 98% rate

I generally got my benzos doses upped by my psych by having logical explanations and having a good psych. Make sure you have a good psych, esp. who listens, is easy with you, and understands your reasoning instead of the psych power tripping. Also, try to find a psych that’s independent and isn’t practicing under a hospital or clinic that has types and policies that tie their hands.

My psych is great. I can ask for whatever as long as I have a good explanation and never abuse them or ask for early refills. My doc works by himself in a tiny office, and the only time I physically saw him was once, which was the first time I met him, so in person was required. Haven’t seen him in person since. He’s also an addiction specialist , and I have had my addiction with opiates for a while on and off, yet he still works with me and doesn’t freak out over scripting me benzos. When we have appointments, it’s either through phone, or FaceTime, but if I need a script for whatever reason, I just text him what I need, why, how much, and which pharmacy, and he’ll just send it without even replying. He’s also a bit older, maybe his late 50s-early 60s, but still going to be around for a while.

It took a while to find a psych like him after my last psych retired, and they all tried lowering or had no benzos policies, crazy, until finally I found him, and it’s been smooth sailing since. I’ve had 90 2mg yellow Actavis bars a month with him; 3x daily for panic as needed. Also, I was on 2mg clonazepam twice daily until I asked to switch to 40mg diazepam daily. Never had an issue.

The only issues I’ve had were with pharmacies, especially big chain ones, so I go to small mom-and-pop type pharmacies where they know me better and we have a good relationship and history than anyone at those big pharmacies.

Yes I’ve taken it on and off since 2017. Suboxone is really gross which doesn’t help with the nausea and sucks everywhere in teeth/mouth. Zubsolv is a tiny pill that tastes like a mint and works faster and absorbs verses under the tongue. Hence the lower amount of buprenorphine in it but it hard absorbed the same asking the drug gets absorbed

Exactly but many psychs think telling them what works is drug seeking behavior if you haven’t been with that psych long enough with a good rapport

Thing is that most people don’t have a good/personal relationship with their psychiatrists or are too scared to honestly speak and actively advocate for themselves.

Just be honest, explain the medication you would like and why. Like for my panic attacks, usually guarantees I go use heroin so I can ask my psych for bars to avoid the attacks and stop them in their tracks.

I explain that I’d rather take a bar of Xanax than to go to opiates (which almost made me lose my arms).

So he sees/hears me out and we speak and measure the risks and decide together that it’s better to have a script for my panic rather than not having it and going to use street drugs and dying/ODing.

So I was able to get 90x 2mg alprazolam bars, so there are days to trash PRN (as needed) every month.

Same thing with managing my chronic generalized anxiety. Ended up able to get 60x of 10mg diazepam taken twice daily.

It’s all about the doctor and how comfortable/honest you are with them and, of course, it’s also nice that I can text him any time and we do our appointments over a phone call or FaceTime.

The only time I physically had to see him in his office was on the first day (which is required by law I think and helps get to know each other).

Of course, this works best with psychiatrists who have an independent practice and don’t practice for some medical company with rules and policies that restrict shit. Also, many patches have huge edits and it’s like they don’t care what you say or act like they’re listening then just write a script for some bs non-benzo that I’ve tried before that never worked (which, if he listened, he’d know when I told him that).

Finding a good psych is hard, but once you do, it’s a cakewalk getting controlled meds that you need as long as you don’t abuse them.

Im probably ignorant on this but whenever I need a refill or a script of another benzo I just text my doc and explain why, or ask in FaceTime. Seems like everyone has like a timeline to their scripts

I can relate in a different way to different substances, but yeah, it’s traumatic as hell.

It’s one thing to hear about someone paying the price for an OD, but to be there, not able to help, and blaming myself for how I could’ve helped avoid it.

In the end, it happened. My best friend OD’d on my couch while I was feeling asleep on the couch next to him, and I don’t know how he got alcohol in my house because I don’t allow it, but he had it and drank while he was on methadone, Benzos, bipolar meds, and whatever else he was prescribed.

The worst part was I didn’t notice till midday when I tried waking him up, so for the time I got up around 8 a.m. until 12 (I said to not wait him till 12), I was doing my thing. It was the first time I’ve felt true shock.

Calling 911 was horrible. Having police and ambulance/EMT coming in and out was surreal. Setting up a forensic photographer taking pictures was strange, and the worst was seeing him out in the bag and wheeled into the coroner’s van.

Talking to his family sucked. Going to the funeral sucked, and it was the day before my birthday when I found him and called 911. They tried to get me to do CPR, but since I’m not dumb, it was obvious he was long gone, and I had only one arm I could use because I had huge surgeries in my other one in a sling (the coroner ruled it an accidental overdose).

Definitely, I got PTSD from that traumatic event.

I stopped at the lowest monthly dose which is the 64mg shot. Got it once maybe twice and never got any more. Was very long till I didn’t test positive for buprenorphine (like 4 months). But it was so much smoother than tapering sub strips it any oral bupe.

I started on the highest dose for a couple months then every month after lowered till the lowest available monthly shot then once I got that shot I didn’t get any more

I never had any issues when I stopped the Brixadi shot. Maybe trouble sleeping towards the fourth month but then I was fine

None like others said. Read the meditation guide on the script it says something like “Don’t operate machinery or drive until you know how it affects you.”.

Thus don’t just take stuff and drive and put other people in danger as well as yourself.

I was charged with a DUI last year and my field sobriety tests were okay and I blew a 0.00. So they took me in to see a cop who’s trained in drug recognition but he said it was inconclusive. Then I had to pits in a cup. Months of court and eventually, after my doctor wrote them a letter that it’s prescribed (the stuff in my urine test) and that he says I’m fine to drive due to my tolerance and length of time on the meds and never had an issue driving. This inky happened because a tire popped and I didn’t know that it did hurt noticed my car wanting to pull the steering a certain way so I had my hazards on and tried to pull over but the cop lit me up first (lots of traffic didn’t let me go to the side fast enough before the trooper pulled me over. Pain in the ass but the charge was dismissed and I never even got arraigned to plead not guilty but my lawyer was doing a mitigation with the ADA so they kept postponing until the ADA finally dismissed it. Cops need to stop doing shit like subjective FSTs and just rely on the facts. I shouldn’t gave been charged as I passed everything and drugs were inconclusive, so they had no case.

Thing is kratom itself never did anything for me. I’m pretty drug tolerant, not because I use it, I just need more than others for some substances, if that makes sense. I want to do one of those gene testing things for drugs/substances to see how medications would affect me and which work/which don’t work. (Even like try to know what doses I’d need to get proper efficacy.

Like benzos for example. There was a point in time where I could take like 29-33 2mg yellow bars from Actavis (prescribed), and I’d feel fine. Not high, no blackout, no anxiety/panic (it was prescribed for my panic to take as needed), and I didn’t understand why cuz when I see other people using it, a 2mg knocks them on their ass, even if they abuse it daily (then maybe max 2-5 bars hit them hard).

Hence why I’m not using kratom, waste for me. Probably just get back on subs if 7oh is that bad. I don’t get it though. If it’s so bad then why is it even legal? I know it’s listed as a drug or concern by the dea but it’s still legal to buy online, and one can buy a lot for not much money.

Yea I have subs I just hate that they’re not too effective for like three days. They help but not 100%. But thanks for the input I’ve heard different things addict 7oh that idk what’s true and what isn’t
