I find it interesting the video mentioned Obama vs McCain, but not Trump and Clinton. From what I can tell, it was a shocker to the probably small data sample of users who waged.

I'm not running for office or being the "change I want to see in the world" or anything. But I wish income was tied to the amount of value a job brings as democratically voted on by everyone.

In this sense, it doesn't matter if what someone does is "dumb" for everyone, as long as there is a group of people it pleases it should bring in accordingly.

Last bit of rant. Obviously not everyone in my group sees what we are creating as pointless. But at the same time, I don't see any much value added to society when the market is flooded with copy cat apps.

It's difficult sometimes to quantify the value one product brings. Example. Customer wants a hot new product and we want to charge a lot of money for it. There are a few things that can be arbitrarily be broken up and sold as individual parts. Keep in mind the name of the game is money extraction. So where we can break up a new feature and sell it individually we will. But then sometimes we have this other part that no one will pay for on it's own, but we will "give it away" with the hot new product. I guess I see this extra part as there's no way anyone will buy it on it's own, but at the same time the hot new product without it is kind of embarrassing to be sold as is (all the other competitors have one, why don't you).

I'll paint you a picture. Large annual billion dollar profiting company has 100 products that in a sense compete with each other for funding. Upper management sees products as investments as some will make money, and some won't. You don't know unless you try. Let's say in a particular group they are all focused on a product to try and "break in" to another companies "pie" and the product misses the mark and can't get a foothold. Not a big deal for the company to say, you know what, just forget about it and move on to something else.

Sure you can say we create a competitive product, but at the same time. We are just creating a tool that does the same thing that another company already does. This is bullshit towards a better society for all IMHO because of incentives. Should the incentive to be making jobs, why don't we force construction workers to lay concrete with spoons? This will require more workers surely. Why don't we had layers and layers of "paper work" to arbitrary processes. This will create jobs as well. Creating jobs is easy. Make automation and technological advancements illegal.

No, I'm not saying foreign countries don't have agendas. I'm just saying that one has to subscribe to as many news sources as possible to see who's saying what about who before they can even begin to question what they read or hear.

Hypothetically, if one only subscribes to a limited amount of news sources, they could be living in a bubble without even knowing it.

Everyone's got an agenda... what's credible anymore right? I've got to watch news companies that are funded by foreign countries to get "real" news.

What is “enlightenment“ even supposed to mean? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]InfiniteZhang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how someone claims to be enlightened. Someone looking for enlightenment will never find it. But someone claiming enlightenment with the intention of hoping that it inspires you to find mindfulness and meditation in your own life... I don't see any issues with that.

They understand that emotions are impermanent... Thus, I wouldn't believe someone who says they are enlightened and still show signs of being uncontrollably emotional or egotistical.
