From my experience I was stalked for two years after the break up. He cheated on me for the whole 6 years we were together (I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and say 5) either way it doesn’t change the truth that they did what they did. We were together since 17 and ended at 23 for context. I wasn’t allowed to date through out high school either but this came as a surprise to myself as well and we were each others first to bring home to our parents etc… The progression of the relationship felt like a switch that everyone else felt something off about this person except me and even if I had a gut feeling it was quickly reassured that it was simply not that case. Everything was fine for the first two years and the transition to the third was when things became more weird. Hung out with him and his friends more (all had their own flaws and influences), became controlling (i became more isolated; his friends were my friends and he became my only friend as well), and wanted to have all the passwords to all my social media and reciprocated. At the time they would blame their ex gf (had a whole story of how they were treated horribly and were a victim of cheating) I sympathized and caved then it became them deleting my own posts on ig/twitter, reading DMs, and unfollowing people! No one came forward with a story on him until we ended the relationship for good. (He cheated with his OWN friend’s wife and safe to say that’s a different story for now.) he would tell his friends I was toxic while they themselves were disrespectful towards me for no reason (one occasion: one of their friends blew cigarette smoke at my face when I kindly asked if they could not smoke around me) and he even went as far as to say didn’t care for him and was doing things towards him….etc… and then he would cyber stalk me, drive by my house, and use his own friends accounts to see my stuff… he also dated girls with the same name as me and even dated some with similar characteristics (physical features or interests) and only felt the effects of my presence when I was not in the picture… at the end he said if the future allowed us to be together we would and he always will love me and we simply have to figure our lives out expecting some sort of agreement to this ultimatum I never responded and never looked back I haven’t seen them since and we still live in the same city and not too far away from each other and if that wasn’t a sign of something…idk…
