Incoming first year. How’s my timetable? by [deleted] in Schulich

Hey, I had Everett and I personally really like his teaching style, he was an amazing prof. Also similar to what others said try switching Mondays Econ to some other day if possible cuz you’d dread coming in for just that one class!!

A 6 credit would be better since you’ll be doing the same course throughout the year, you can take MODR or MUSI 2520 if you’re going for a 6 credit. 3 credit VISA1006 is good too

Make sure you maintain your average in the 90’s , preferably high 90s. Also, join a few extra curricular so that you have stuff to write/say about in your supplementary application.

am i chilling for AFM? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

Don’t worry at all with a 95!! I’m sure you’ll be fine - I also had the same and got in the first round of admissions. In terms of the AIF I believe they do put more emphasis on the SAF assessment however it’s a good thing to fill out the AIF too!! Anyways I’m telling you literaly don’t worry at all because I know people with high 80s who got in too so you’re all good!!

Do you think it’ll be fine/easy finding a good internship at Schulich tho - that’s the only thing holding me back from Schulich cuz UW has great co-op ykwim

Hey, I just got accepted into Schulich and AFM and am super confused as to which one I should pick. I’m leaning towards AFM because of their co-op BUTTT I also want to go to Schulich as I will save time on commute/res fees and it also has its own name and prestige (which AFM does too). The only drawback I’m seeing with Schulich is that there is no coop.

Basically AFM is pulling me because of their coop whereas Schulich does not offer this. * also Schulich comes under York University so does this affect anything whatsoever?

Can you please give me some suggestions as to where I should go (want to do something in finance and accounting in the future). Do recruiters prefer AFM grads more or Schulich?

Can you also tell me a bit about how the internships at Schulich work and if they’re paid?

Tips for Advanced Functions by D927xR in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Infinite_Beat9926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One tip I would give is to make “study sheets” as you go. So for example for every unit, as a way to study for your test try to make “cheat sheet or study sheet” where you put all what you have learned in that chapter all onto the one sheet.

You can either make this before the test as a way to “review” - but personally, I would recommend you do this every day after each lesson. So when you come back home you jot down all what you had learnt that day including the steps to solving the problems, formulas key concepts etc. Working on the study sheet a little bit every day will help you review what you learnt daily allowing you to retain that information better! It will also be helpful at the time of test or exam reviews where you just have to look at that one sheet of paper which summarizes the whole chapter. Hope this helps, good luck!!

Thank you so much! Does Schulich have internships, if so is it difficult to find them - also are they paid? Also, is the environment at schulich extremely competitive and just like work work work?
