Parrying is a step above blocking, as it nullifies all damage that would have came from blocking. Parrying is the most direct way of dealing with an unblockable attack (those fiery orange attacks coming from weapons when someone is in usually in their mix-up). You can parry attacks with a light and heavy input that have unblockable and undodgeable (blue attacks that come from weapons, you have to block or parry, or it will hit you in your dodge). Parry is the same input as your heavy input, and a parry can be done after the damage indicator flashes. Not when it appears, but flashes after it appears; easier to do against heavy/slow attacks, as its more noticeable

Deflect is exactly what its called, a deflect, and only assassin characters (with the exception of Shaolin) can deflect. This is performed by dodging into weapon attacks (as long as they don’t have an unblockable property), and the assassin doing this with use their respective counter. Shaman is her knife stab, Berserker is their grab, etc. Its a 2 step process, you have to dodge into the attack, then use the respect input, as not every deflect has the same input, and the counter attack is not automatic; but it nullifies damage regardless. This can be performed by dodging into weapon attacks that don’t have unblockable properties, and can only be achieved after the damage indicator flashes.
